Connor McDavid’s Wife Lauren Shares Heartwarming Christmas Moment With Oilers Star

Lauren Kyle shares her Christmas moment with Connor McDavid in Edmonton as the Oilers push through another tight Pacific Division season.

The Oilers continue to push through a demanding season, balancing expectations with pressure in a tight Pacific Division race. Even as the schedule stays packed, time away from the rink still matters.

With Christmas celebrations now done and the New Year around the corner, those special moments offered a brief pause before the grind resumes.

Lauren Kyle Shares a Christmas Moment With Connor McDavid in Edmonton

As Edmonton remained near the top of the standings, a look into Connor McDavid’s life off the ice surfaced during the holidays. His wife, Lauren Kyle, shared a Christmas post on Instagram, writing, “Merry Christmas from the McDavids.”

The photos showed McDavid and Lauren at home, including one where she kisses him as he holds her. Their Bernedoodle, Lenny, was also part of the moment.

The setting was simple, featuring food, drinks, and a Christmas tree adorned with warm, yellow lights. Lauren also shared images tied to the Oilers’ schedule, including Edmonton’s 5-1 win over the Calgary Flames just before Christmas.

McDavid recorded five assists in that game and controlled play throughout the night. Another photo showed Lauren at the arena with Rachel Gagner, wife of former Oiler Sam Gagner, highlighting the close circle around the team.

The post came during another strong stretch for McDavid, who continues to lead Edmonton’s offense. The Oilers have lost the Stanley Cup Final in each of the last two seasons, both times to the Florida Panthers.

That result still lingers as the team looks ahead. McDavid remains central to everything Edmonton does, leading the league in production (67 points) and setting the pace each night.

Off the ice, McDavid and Lauren’s story has grown alongside his NHL career. The two met as teenagers and married on July 27, 2024, on Old Woman Island in Lake Muskoka, Ontario. Lauren later shared wedding photos in August with the caption,

“Married the love of my life and it was the most perfect weekend I could ever imagine!” She also reflected earlier on their engagement, writing in June 2023, “Almost 8 years of growth, happiness, and so much love… I knew you were my person from the day we met.”

Muskoka has remained a meaningful place for them. In an August 2024 interview with Vogue, Lauren said, “Our favourite place in the world is our cottage in Muskoka… being on the water is so peaceful and calming,” noting it was also where McDavid proposed.

Lauren has built her own career alongside McDavid’s. She launched Kyle&Co design studio in 2019, owns Edmonton bar Bar Trove, which opened June 6, and runs Sports Club Atelier, a clothing line focused on Oilers apparel.

As the season enters its second half, the holiday offered a short break from hockey. McDavid will shift his focus back to wins, but the moment showed life beyond the rink.
