    NFL World Reacts To Sauce Gardner Jets-Colts Trade

    Sauce Gardner has been one of the most notable players on the New York Jets since being selected with the fourth pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

    That said, the Jets are currently one of the worst teams in the league with a 1-7 record in their first eight games.

    Jets Trade Sauce Gardner To Colts

    Before Tuesday’s NFL Trade Deadline, the Jets traded the two-time All-Pro to the Indianapolis Colts.

    Via ESPN’s Adam Schefter: “ESPN sources: Colts are trading two first-round picks to the Jets for CB Sauce Gardner.”

    Many people around the NFL world reacted to the trade.

    @ColtsMusee: “Sauce Gardner career as a Jet: — 55 Games — 143 Solo Tackles — 3 Interceptions — 1.0 Sack — 1 Forced Fumble — NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year (2022) — 2x Pro Bowler (2022, 2023) — 2x First-team All-Pro (2022, 2023) WELCOME TO INDY”

    @mchappell51: “Two 1s and AD Mitchell (2024 D2) is a steep price, but it was going to take that to acquire a difference-maker. And Sauce Gardner has been a difference-maker. 3 INTs and 46 PDs in 5 games. 2-time All-Pro. Pairing Sauce with Mooney Ward gives Indy top-level CB tandem”

    @CalebFC18: “Crazy overpay by the Colts imo. Sauce Gardner hasn’t looked great lately. 2 first-round picks and AD Mitchell seems like a lot.”

    @NFLPlus: “Sauce Gardner has not allowed more than two receptions to a single receiver in a game this season 👀 He has forced a tight window on 52.0% of his targets, the highest rate of any player targeted at least 20 times in coverage, per @NextGenStats #ForTheShoe”

    @jetsmuse: “Sauce Gardner’s stats with the #Jets: 4 Seasons 143 Solo Tackles 58 Assists 3 Interceptions 1 Sack 2 Pro Bowls Go be great in Indy, we love you 💚💚 #Jets #JetUp”

    @joelvmoran: “What the Colts got in Sauce Gardner: 2x Pro Bowler 2x All Pro In the 2025 Season: – 45.5% REC (3rd best) – 27% FI (2nd best) Still a shutdown corner who will thrive in Lou Anarumo’s scheme”

    @Connor_J_Hughes: “Darren Mougey has a saying: If the phone rings, he’s answering it. This is why. The #Jets were not shopping Sauce Gardner. They had no intention of trading Gardner. They were offered a package they simply couldn’t turn down. Two firsts + AD Mitchell, a third rounder from a year ago.”

    Benjamin Solak: “(I do not think two firsts is that big of an overpay for Sauce Gardner) (I think two firsts was an insane underpay for Micah Parsons)”

    @Emmanuel Acho: “Sauce Gardner, Charvarius Ward, Cam Bynum, Kenny Moore II— GTFOH Absolute sick @Colts 🔥🔥”

    The Colts are off to an excellent start, as they are currently the top team in the AFC South with a 7-2 record.
