The scandal involving Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini has transcended sports and become mainstream news. New information seems to surface each day, so the saga continues to dominate headlines.
The alleged affair between the New England Patriots head coach and The Athletic’s former NFL insider has captured the public’s attention, and Bill Belichick’s girlfriend Jordon Hudson is no different. However, Hudson seems interested in one particular aspect of the narrative.
Bill Belichick’s Girlfriend Jordon Hudson Keeping Tabs on Mike Vrabel, Dianna Russini Scandal
Hudson knows a thing or two about enduring tabloid narratives thanks to her relationship with Belichick. Vrabel and Russini have been drawing unwanted attention from the New York Post, TMZ, and Co. since April, and the storm has yet to subside.
NFL writer and podcaster Tony Farmer has been covering the Vrabel-Russini scandal closely, and he noted Hudson’s continued interest in the saga.
“This is the 2nd time Bill Belichick’s girlfriend has shown interest in one of our tweets,” he posted with a screenshot. “Both have been related to the media’s coverage of the Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini situation.”

Both of the posts that Hudson engaged with had to do with the media’s silence over the Vrabel-Russini scandal. She also sent two tweets about the scandal, both of which were about Chris Simms being replaced on NBC’s “Football Night in America” after an awkward exchange between Simms and ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio where he seemed to silence his co-host on the topic of Vrabel and Russini.
Hudson definitely seems most interested in how the media has covered the Vrabel-Russini scandal. Perhaps she has a bone to pick with the media given how her relationship with Belichick has been covered.
Hudson’s thoughts on the situation are noteworthy given that she’s dating Belichick, who coached Vrabel from 2001-2008 on the Patriots and won three Super Bowl rings with him (and six total in New England). Hudson’s tweets and social-media activity have turned heads among NFL observers.
“[Jordon] definitely wants to start some sh*t,” one user noted.
“The media colluded against Bill,” another user speculated. “Wonder if [Russini] ever pulled any shady hit pieces against Bill.”

“Mainstream sports media: Jordon Hudson is fair game. Mainstream sports media: Dianna Russini shall not be touched,” analyst Jason Whitlock posted recently. “What should we make of this?”
During the early stages of the controversy, Russini resigned from The Athletic. Meanwhile, the Patriots have publicly backed Vrabel even after he missed Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft to enter counseling. A number of players have spoken out and supported him as well, including Drake Maye, Christian Gonzalez, and Robert Spillane. The NFL has announced that they aren’t investigating the Vrabel-Russini scandal, as they are treating it as a personal matter.
It remains to be seen how the Vrabel-Russini saga will evolve, but it certainly seems Hudson is paying close attention to the controversy.
