Maxx Crosby has been involved in many trade rumors during the 2026 NFL offseason so far. If the Las Vegas Raiders decide to move him, several teams are expected to be interested in adding the elite edge player. The Chicago Bears have recently emerged as one of the top teams being speculated as a potential landing spot.
Bears Emerge as a Top Destination for Maxx Crosby
Crosby has ranked among the top two edge players in PFSN’s Impact Rankings for four of the past five seasons. He has clearly been a superstar for the Raiders, but his trade rumors have been fueled by the team’s rebuild.
Jordan Schultz’s post stating “Sources: Teams in the trade market have gotten the sense that the #Raiders are more open to the idea of trading Maxx Crosby, and it’s a situation that is only going to intensify.” gained a lot of reactions from the NFL World.

The Bears are a team to keep a close eye on if the superstar defender were to become available. Their recent offseason activity and speculations suggest they now have the salary-cap space to sign him.
“The Bears have cleared a bunch of cap room this week, with Drew Dalman retiring and DJ Moore traded. We’d mentioned earlier that they’ve shown some interest,” explained Sr. NFL Reporter Albert Breer.

The Bears recently traded away DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for draft picks, and also had offensive lineman Drew Dalman announce his retirement. This contributes to the rumors that they may be targeting the Raiders star, whom they have apparently already inquired about.
“I think the Bears have checked in on Maxx Crosby, but I don’t know if they will be able to get it done,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Chicago is apparently not the only team in the mix to potentially be seeking a deal for the premier pass rusher. Several other franchises have also been linked to rumors that he could be dealt during the 2026 NFL offseason.
“Bears… Rams… Cowboys… BATTLING it out for Maxx Crosby thus far, it’s a war,” stated NFL Writer & Insider John Frascella.

It remains unclear whether the Raiders are truly willing to make a deal, but reports indicate they are gauging interest and weighing their options. Some have speculated that they are posturing to increase their potential return package, which would surely be a massive haul.
“Translation: No one has met our desired asking price,” said Senior NFL contributor Marcus Mosher, quoting Jordan Schultz’s original post.

It’s rare for a player of his caliber to become available on the trade market, so it makes sense that the Raiders are asking for a ton in return if the rumors are true that they are shopping him. If the Bears can meet their demands, this move could elevate them to Super Bowl contenders after reaching the playoffs last year.
