NFL training camps are kicking off across the nation, and former Second-Team All-Pro receiver Brandon Aiyuk is nowhere to be seen. Not on the football fields, anyway.
Instead, the San Francisco 49ers receiver is on the organization’s reserve/left team list. Yet, that doesn’t mean Aiyuk has been silent; after all, he’s been one of the NFL’s most outspoken players all offseason long.
Now, he’s taking aim at his head coach, Kyle Shanahan, again, but this time it’s a low blow.
Brandon Aiyuk Chastised for Taking ‘Classless’ Shots at Kyle Shanahan
Aiyuk’s offseason theme has continued, where he’s taking to social media and getting criticized for it left, right and center.
This time around, he mocked Shanahan after a horrific accident that left the 49ers coach with broken ribs, a busted nose, a fractured hand, and a concussion, while also needing 40 stitches on his face after reportedly nearly “losing” his right eye.
Crazily, Shanahan being in a serious car wreck doesn’t impact Aiyuk in any way.
Aiyuk posted on Instagram, “You can’t win the race if you crash out. Keep yo head up and stay in yo own lane. You gone win.”
Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team called Aiyuk’s shots “classless.”

One social media user on X said, “I hope he never gets to play again. What a loser.”

Another account on X referred to Aiyuk as a “clown” after his comments about Shanahan.

Another quoted the late, great Maya Angelou, indicating Aiyuk’s pattern of behavior is a red flag.

Meanwhile, kudos to NBC Sports’ JP Finlay for getting Washington Commanders GM Adam Peters to address the elephant in the room by asking about Aiyuk in a roundabout way.

One user even suggested that Aiyuk’s actions won’t land him another NFL opportunity, but instead will send him to the CFL if he wants to keep playing football.

Aiyuk is still just 28 years old, so to think that his NFL career could already be over is something to behold. Yet, after missing all of last season and going on an interesting social media campaign, it’s hard to envision Aiyuk playing in an NFL game any time soon.
