NFL Weather Report and Forecast for the Conference Championship Round: All is quiet as the Super Bowl matchup gets set

Well, it’s been a good ride — a historically long, winding, ridiculous ride, to be more precise. Yet, this — the 21st installment of the NFL weekly weather report — is the final one. I mean not for good. We’ll be running it back in about eight months when the 2022 season kicks off.

There are three games left in the 2021-2022 NFL calendar. The Conference Championships, and then the big one, Super Bowl LVI. Of those games, two are indoors and even at the same address. That means this will be one short and sweet NFL weather report.

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs (-7), O/U 54.5 | Sunday 3 PM ET

What the Kansas City Chiefs did last week was incredible. What Patrick Mahomes did in 13 seconds is even more spectacular. Don’t ever let someone tell you 13 seconds isn’t long enough for anything in life if he can help lead the Chiefs into field goal range.

While I do not believe this game will live up to last week’s nail-biter, it should still be fantastic. If you are playing DFS to scratch the fantasy football itch, you could treat this as a single game slate and likely do very well in cash games.

A heavy-hitter DFS play is viable this weekend

On PFN Weekly, that’s exactly what I did and showed a lineup on DraftKings that was heavy-hitter loaded with Patrick Mahomes ($7,400), Joe Mixon ($6,800), Jerick McKinnon ($5,100), Tyreek Hill ($7,000), Ja’Marr Chase ($6,700), and Travis Kelce ($6,500). This is only possible due to the favorable pricing they have done this postseason.

This left me with two spots to fill. With one, I went Tyler Boyd ($4,200), who came into last week’s game with four straight games with a TD. With the Bengals likely in a negative game script, the boom-bust nature of Boyd could come into play. However, you can also make a pivot to Byron Pringle for $4,300. Over his last five games, Pringle is the Chiefs’ top TD scorer (5), on 24 receptions for 232 yards.

At the flex, I went with a double-TE approach with C.J. Uzomah ($3,400). He’s coming off a 7-of-8 game for 71 yards and has 135 yards total and a TD this postseason. That leaves $2,800 for the 49ers defense. You can go with the Bengals, but I want the better defense and the team who could lead the slate in points. This is a lineup I will be throwing out there and taking advantage of what should be a high-scoring affair. If you play this and win, my going rate is a 20% cut. I’m glad we came to this agreement.

As for the NFL weather forecast for Kansas City, expect 46-degree temperatures, light and variable winds, and sunny skies. Basically a perfect end of January day.

Conference Championship indoor games

The NFC Championship Game will be played in optimal conditions, and there will be no effect on the passing and kicking games. This helps to eliminate at least one variable fantasy managers need to consider each week.
