Many NFL trade rumors continue to swirl as the deadline quickly approaches in Week 10 of the 2025 season. Several moves have already been completed, and other stars will likely be dealt before it arrives on Tuesday afternoon.
The Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers are reportedly in the market for upgrades and are both expected to be buyers. They are also two of the top candidates to potentially land one of the most valuable players rumored to be available at the 2025 NFL trade deadline.

Prized 2025 NFL Trade Deadline Target Linked to Cowboys and 49ers
Struggling teams and those who are headed for a rebuild often make some of their star players available ahead of the NFL trade deadline. The Miami Dolphins have already been sellers this year, including sending Jaelan Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles, and they are rumored to be shopping their other star pass rusher as well.
Rickey Scoops, who has built a solid reputation on X for suggesting rumored trades around the league, recently posted that Bradley Chubb could be on the move. He mentioned the Cowboys and 49ers among the potential landing spots.

“Sounds like the Dolphins will be moving Bradley Chubb today. The Cowboys and 49ers are the most likely destinations,” said Rickey.

The Cowboys have been the worst defense in the NFL this season, so improving on this side of the ball would increase their chances of making the playoffs. They already traded for Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson and could be looking for more after being linked to Chubb.
The 49ers lost elite edge rusher Nick Bosa to a season-ending injury, so it makes sense why they would potentially be in the market to add another pass rusher. They are right in the mix for a playoff spot with their 6-3 record, so a move for Chubb could make them legitimate contenders.
Chubb is currently on a three-year contract with the Dolphins worth $54.49 million, according to Spotrac. This means that he can be a long-term investment rather than just a rental for this season. He is just 29-years-old and has totaled 43.5 sacks in his career with two Pro Bowl selections.
Four of those have come during the 2025 season to go along with 25 total tackles as he currently ranks 62nd among edge rushers on PFSN’s Impact Rankings this year. He also recorded 11 sacks two years ago before missing last season with an ACL injury. If he is moved before the NFL trade deadline, he could be a major upgrade for the team that acquires him.
