Ex-NFL GM Lays Out Massive Trade Package for Cowboys Star Micah Parsons to Sneaky Super Bowl Contender

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons has been linked with a move away from the team, with a former executive proposing a huge three-player trade.

Micah Parsons’ ongoing contract standoff with the Dallas Cowboys is currently the biggest story in the NFL. The All-Pro pass rusher has publicly stated his intention to leave the team after months of hostilities between the player, his representatives, and the team’s owner.

With no new deal in sight, speculation persists about a potential trade away from the Cowboys, with Parsons having admirers across the league. During a recent episode of ESPN’s “Get Up,” one former NFL general manager tipped a fellow NFC contender to make a move.

Micah Parsons Linked With NFC Contender in Mammoth Trade

There is a reason players like Parsons are rarely available or even discussed as trade candidates. Teams are seldom willing to let a star player walk, regardless of the compensation, and Parsons is among the most talented players in the league.

It seems illogical, therefore, that the Cowboys would consider trading the former Penn State star, yet Jerry Jones has done nothing to suggest he is eager for the player to stay. Jones has refused to communicate with Parsons’ agent, and it appears the player has grown tired of the owner’s stubbornness.

If the Cowboys lose control of the situation and Parsons is no longer interested in a new deal, it would pave the way for a previously unthinkable trade. Former New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum believes the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be a great fit and has proposed a massive deal to get it done.

“We’re gonna give up a first-round pick; Bucky Irving, a great young running back; and Vita Vea… Who says no to this? If I’m the Cowboys, I get a great running back, which I really need, I’ve got maybe the best run stopper in the NFL, and a first-round pick.”

The former executive also proposed trade packages that would send Parsons to the Detroit Lions and the Buffalo Bills, with Brian Branch and Ed Oliver going the other way. Trade compensation would be difficult to work out, though, with the player’s immense talent weighing against the fact that he has only one year remaining on his contract.

The Cowboys are undoubtedly still interested in keeping Parsons, and they will be confident of securing his signature when they eventually decide to address the situation. Any trade would then result from Parsons refusing the team’s offers, leaving the Cowboys with little leverage.

Jones has admitted to provoking controversy within the organization to keep the Cowboys in the news. The prolonged saga surrounding Parsons has certainly gotten people’s attention ahead of the release of the new Netflix documentary about his ownership of the team. He’ll just have to hope he hasn’t caused too much collateral damage along the way.
