The NFL Draft is rapidly approaching, and rumors are flying in many directions about which teams could be in on the top prospects at each position. With a few trades involving first-round picks already made this offseason, eyes have begun to shift to which teams could be looking to move up in round one in 2026, and who they could be moving up to get.
Arvell Reese, Jeremiyah Love Are Two Players To Watch For in Trade-Up Scenarios
Thus far in the offseason, the Denver Broncos traded the 30th pick and more to the Miami Dolphins for Jaylen Waddle, and the Los Angeles Rams traded the 29th pick and more to the Kansas City Chiefs for Trent McDuffie. However, thus far, no picks in the top 10 have been moved this offseason.
With the draft only being 10 days away, who could be some of the players that teams are interested in moving up for?
“I’d say there are two players who could provoke such a move. One is Reese, assuming Bailey is off the board at No. 2,” wrote Albert Breer, Senior NFL reporter for Sports Illustrated. “The other player who could inspire a trade is Jeremiyah Love, based on the sort of difference-maker he can be for an offense and the high-volume nature of the impact he can make.”
Reese was long predicted to be the pick for the New York Jets at second overall, but in the last week, David Bailey’s name has gained significant momentum as a possible choice for the Jets.
If the Ohio State star is available, he could be a prospect that teams are aggressive to move up for, given his versatility and immense upside. Reese ranked as the No. 62 edge rusher in PFSN’s College EDGE Impact Metric (EDGEi) in 2025, setting career-highs across the board with 69 tackles (34 solo, 35 assists), 10 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and two pass deflections.
While Reese’s numbers don’t jump off the page, he was asked to move around a lot at Ohio State, limiting his pass-rushing production. Many have compared Reese to a player like Micah Parsons coming out of college due to their similar builds and production profiles, as a result of their usage. He may present some risk due to the limited collegiate production, but his measurables and talent are undeniable, and could cause a team to fall in love with the upside.
Similarly, Jeremiyah Love presents a player who could be extremely enticing for teams, depending on where he is available. Love is one of, if not the top player in the draft class, regardless of position, but his one knock is that he plays a position that some teams don’t value as much in running back.
The Notre Dame running back ranked as the No. 4 player in PFSN’s College Running Back Impact Metric (RBi) in 2025, averaging 6.9 yards per carry, while rushing for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns.
However, despite being dominant on the ground, it’s his ability to present the total package that makes him such a well-regarded prospect, as he is also an adept receiver out of the backfield. In his collegiate career, Love has caught 63 passes for 594 yards and six touchdowns.
The upside these two players offer makes it clear why a team could fall in love and make a move to get them.
Saints and Cowboys Listed as Teams to Watch for in a Trade Up in Round 1
“So who would trade up to select one of those two? The Saints, who pick eighth, have shown a willingness to get aggressive in the past and have a pass-rush need,” Breer added. “There’s also Dallas. The Cowboys could view Reese like they did Parsons in 2021.”
New Orleans and Dallas make tons of sense for Reese, as both need to add to their defensive lines. New Orleans is expected to lose Cameron Jordan in free agency, while Dallas is still looking to replace the void in production that was left when they traded Parsons away.
Both teams have shown a willingness to be aggressive in the past, and edge rusher is a position that they could certainly use an upgrade at.
Love, on the other hand, presents a more interesting case, as neither of those two teams has an obvious need at running back. Dallas signed Javonte Williams to a three-year deal, while New Orleans signed Travis Etienne Jr. in free agency. However, Love could be so rare a talent that a team bypasses need and does whatever it can to get him.

The Tennessee Titans, New York Giants, and Washington Commanders are among the teams that have been most often linked to Love thus far, but a dark horse suitor could emerge if he reaches an inflection point in the draft.
Look for Love and Reese to hear their names called early in the first round and keep an eye on trade-up scenarios for them and other top-tier talent. Breer mentions the Saints and Cowboys as two teams to watch for, but any team could look to be active in a trade if one of their guys falls far enough.
