Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons was a challenging one for the New Orleans Saints, resulting in a 24-10 loss. This was a winnable game, and way too many mistakes stopped that from happening, but some players had great performances.
RB Devin Neal
One of the recurring names on this list this season is rookie RB Devin Neal, who had another excellent performance. RB Alvin Kamara left early with an injury, and with Neal the only other true RB on the roster, he had to step up — and he did.
As a rusher, Neal picked up tough yards and dominated the Falcons’ run defense. When the Saints used him as a pass catcher, he made something out of nothing and worked hard for extra yards. If New Orleans had given him the ball closer to the end zone, the Saints could have scored more.

EDGE Chase Young
Another player who often makes this list, EDGE Chase Young, kept making plays and looked dominant against the Falcons. He consistently pressured the right side of Atlanta’s offensive line and disrupted much of the Falcons’ first-half plan.
Against the run, Young also made consistent plays throughout the game, effectively containing RB Bijan Robinson.
This season, Young is ranked 22nd in PFSN’s EDGE Impact metric.
WR Mason Tipton
The third spot was a bit up for grabs between a few players, but WR Mason Tipton deserves it. After the Saints released Brandin Cooks this week, Tipton was thrust into the WR3 role and had to step up in this game. He started with an excellent kickoff return that put the Saints’ offense in a strong position to score (even though they didn’t).

After that play, Tipton finished the game with three receptions for 37 yards and one rush for 11 yards. While not eye-popping, for a WR3 he stepped up and made key plays that kept drives alive multiple times.
