Packers’ Wild Card Injury Report: Malik Willis, Dontayvion Wicks, Others Status vs. Bears

The Packers had some key injuries to monitor as the week progressed. What's the status of key packers players for the Wild Card game?

The Green Bay Packers have released their final injury report ahead of Saturday’s Wild Card game against the Chicago Bears.

The Packers had a few key players working through injuries this week, and the latest report gave some clarity on their availability for Saturday.

What’s the Latest on Key Packers Players?

Packers’ receiver Dontayvion Wicks has been ruled out for the game, but rookie receiver Matthew Golden is off the injury report.

The Packers have been focused on getting as healthy as possible over the last two weeks, since they clinched their playoff berth.

Their strategy seems to have worked so far, as numerous key players trended in the right direction this week. Here is the latest on their health.

Packers Game Status:

  • DL Warren Brinson (Foot) – Questionable
  • S Javon Bullard (Knee) – Questionable
  • LB Nick Niemann (Pectoral) – Questionable
  • OL Zach Tom (Back/Knee) – Questionable
  • WR Dontayvion Wicks (Concussion) – Out
  • QB Malik Willis (Right Shoulder/Hamstring) – Questionable

Wicks is the lone Packer who’s been ruled out for the Wild Card game.

Willis is in line to back up quarterback Jordan Love, who is off the injury report and fully healthy, and it would be hard to imagine Bullard not playing.

Tom had the day off from practice yesterday to allow him to rest. He’s likely the biggest question mark of the key players.

Packers’ coach Matt LaFluer said this week he expects Tom to return to action for the Wild Card game, but the team would have to wait and see how he progresses throughout the week.

Both linebacker Edgerrin Cooper and Golden participated fully in practice on Wednesday and Thursday and were removed from the injury report.

Defensive lineman Lukas Van Ness practiced in full all week and was removed from the injury report. Both Van Ness and edge rusher Rashan Gary will be leaned on heavily to be difference-makers on Saturday.

On the Bears’ side, receiver DJ Moore and Rome Odunze were both full practice participants on Thursday and removed from the injury report.

Offensive lineman Braxton Jones and defensive back Kyler Gordon, who both are coming off injured reserve, were full practice participants on Thursday and are questionable for Saturday.

The Bears have ruled out C.J. Gardner-Johnson (concussion), linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga (concussion), and defensive lineman Joe Tryon-Shoyinka (concussion).

Both teams are expected to be as healthy as they’ve been in weeks, setting up an incredible Wild Card Game on Saturday.

The Packers defended Lambeau Field with a win in their first meeting, and the Bears defended Soldier Field with a win in the second meeting.

Now the Packers and Bears will meet for a third time this season, and the third time all-time in the postseason.
