The Green Bay Packers won’t have star edge rusher Micah Parsons on the field this postseason, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be in the building.
Parsons tore his ACL in the Packers’ Week 15 game against the Denver Broncos and underwent surgery in December. Less than a month since the procedure, he appears to have begun rehabilitation, as evidenced by a video he shared on social media Tuesday.
How Is Micah Parsons Doing After His ACL Surgery?
Parsons had missed just four games during his four-year NFL career prior to 2025. The Packers’ edge rusher developed into a star with the Dallas Cowboys and proved to be a durable one at that.
After playing in each of the Packers’ first 14 games of the season, Parsons went down injured Sunday, Dec. 14, against the Broncos. The Packers’ edge rusher was pressuring the passer late in the third quarter when he fell to the ground. The injury appeared to be non-contact, and everyone in the stadium held their breath.
As trainers rushed to Parsons’ aid, the pain and agony were evident on his face. With non-contact injuries, the fear is almost always an ACL tear. Shortly afterward, the Packers confirmed the concern — Parsons had torn his ACL and would be out for the remainder of the season.
The star edge rusher underwent surgery on Dec. 29 and has begun the rehabilitation process. Parsons’ recovery is expected to take nine months, but he has already started and appears ahead of schedule.
He posted two clips on Instagram on Tuesday, showing the progress he is already making.

The first clip shows Parsons slowly pedaling on a stationary bike, while the second shows him gradually lifting the leg that underwent surgery. Parsons later reposted a video from the NFL account on X with the caption, “One week and we’re stronger!”

Parsons will not be returning to the field anytime soon, but his rehab is officially underway, and he already looks ahead of schedule.
The Packers’ edge rusher has enjoyed a sensational start to his NFL career. Earlier this year, before the injury, he set an NFL record by recording at least 12 sacks in each of his first five seasons.
Parsons is ranked No. 8 in the NFL among all edge rushers, according to PFSN’s EDGE Impact Metric.
Given the timing of his injury, Parsons could be ready for the start of the 2026 season, and knowing how he is wired, it would not be surprising to see him back in green and gold for Week 1.
For now, Green Bay can take encouragement from his progress, but the healthy players must stay focused as they prepare to face the Chicago Bears for the third time this season in the Wild Card game Saturday.
