The Atlanta Falcons have not been having a good season, currently 4-8, third in the NFC South behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers, and on the verge of being eliminated from playoff contention. A common theme for the Falcons has been losing close games after close games that many think they should have won.
Injuries, special teams woes, the team not playing up to par, and things alike have been a negative for the Falcons, but a bright spot has been running back Bijan Robinson. Robinson has been a focal point of the Falcons’ offense, as the team is predicated on running the football.
Robinson helps the offense stay balanced and keeps the defense guessing, as play-action is a factor when facing Atlanta. Robinson is a versatile back who can run in between the tackles. Still, it has enough speed to get outside and also does well in the receiving aspect, creating separation against opposing defenders.
So far in the 2025 regular season, Robinson has 995 rushing yards and five touchdowns to go along with 54 catches for 594 receiving yards and two touchdowns. PFSN has Robinson at an 85.8 Running Back Impact Score. Robinson is one of the best running backs in the league and even deserves to be in the Pro Bowl at the end of the year, but how does he measure up against other running backs in the NFL?
Bijan Robinson vs. Other Top Running Backs
When people say the best running backs in the league, some tend to refer to players like the Philadelphia Eagles’ Saquon Barkley, the San Francisco 49ers’ Christian McCaffrey, the Baltimore Ravens’ Derrick Henry, and others.
Barkley has 740 rushing yards and four touchdowns, while McCaffrey has 849 yards and eight touchdowns, with Henry at 931 yards and 10 touchdowns. That’s some good company to be a part of for Robinson. Robinson continues to show why he’s one of the best in the NFL, even despite the Falcons not meeting expectations this year.
Something that stands out about Robinson vs. the rest is his big-play ability. He can turn a simple run or pass into a touchdown, and once he gets rolling, he’s hard to bring down. Robinson is consistent, and although his yards have varied slightly from what fans are accustomed to, he has still had productive games; the Falcons still rely on him to get the offense going.
The Atlanta Falcons will take on the Seattle Seahawks at home on Sunday.
