Cardinals Injury Report: Latest Updates on Will Johnson, Mack Wilson Sr., and More Approaching Week 11

The Arizona Cardinals left Seattle with a host of injuries after Week 10, and it hasn’t gotten any better.

The Cardinals’ injury report from Thursday’s practice includes 18 players. Arizona had nine players record limited practices, seven players did not practice, and two players recorded full practices after missing or being limited on Wednesday.

The headliners are cornerback Will Johnson and linebacker Mack Wilson, but there were plenty more to provide updates on based on Thursday’s injury report.

What Did the Cardinals’ Thursday Injury Report Look Like?

The Cardinals had 16 players on Wednesday’s injury report, and two players were added to Thursday’s report. Here’s a list of the players included and their injury designations heading into Friday.

    • DL Darius Robinson (Groin) – Limited
    • WR Xavier Weaver (Ankle) – Full
    • OLB Josh Sweat (NIR-Rest) – DNP
    • OL Hayden Conner (Knee) – Limited

The two additions to Thursday’s injury report were Sweat and Conner. Sweat is just for veteran rest, and Conner was activated from injured reserve, with his practice window opening for the first time on Thursday.

The key players not to practice were Wilson, Johnson, Browning, Williams, and Taylor-Demerson. Harrison also did not practice, but he’s already been ruled out for Sunday.

Johnson is the Cardinals’ top cornerback and ranked No. 6 in the NFL, according to PFSN’s CB Impact, and back-to-back DNPs don’t look good for a potential return on Sunday.

Cardinals safety Budda Baker told reporters on Thursday that Arizona was preparing for rookie linebacker Cody Simon to start once again, which means Wilson is unlikely to play on Sunday.

The Cardinals are beat up all over, with four offensive linemen (outside of Conner) on the injury report, three linebackers, three defensive linemen, and three members of the secondary.

The good news for Arizona is that Walter and Melton have practiced both days this week, but Melton has been in a no-contact yellow jersey due to his concussion. Knight remained a limited practice participant, and there is no further information on Trey Benson.

Friday should be a telling day based on who practices and in what capacity.
