WATCH: Ex-NFL Stars Taylor Lewan, Will Compton Shake Hands With President Donald Trump At UFC 316

The UFC’s meteoric rise has attracted some of the biggest stars and best-known faces in the world to its signature main events. Among the organization’s regular guests is President Donald Trump.

In a video taken from the President’s entrance at UFC 316, he can be seen shaking hands with former NFL stars Taylor Lewan and Will Compton. Lewan and Compton now host their “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast and have previously interviewed the President.

President Donald Trump Attends UFC 316

Trump made his way to Newark, N.J., for the title rematch between Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O’Malley for the UFC Bantamweight belt. Also on the card are women’s bantamweight champion Julianna Peña and UFC favorite Kelvin Gastelum. Trump is a keen supporter of the UFC and has a close friendship with the company’s owner, Dana White.

The pair’s friendship is so close, in fact, that Trump invited White to speak on stage during his victory speech after emerging victorious after a grueling presidential election. White appeared to become emotional as he delivered an impassioned speech, in which he spoke glowingly about Trump’s character and work ethic.

“This is what happens when the machine comes after you, what you’ve seen over the last several years. This is what it looks like. Couldn’t stop him. He keeps going forward. He doesn’t quit. He’s the most resilient, hardworking man I’ve ever met in my life. His family are incredible people. This is karma, ladies and gentlemen. He deserves this. They deserve it as a family.

White also took the time to thank a number of podcast hosts who had interviewed Trump in the build-up to the election, including comedians Theo Von and Joe Rogan.

Also among those mentioned in the “thank-yous” section of White’s speech were Lewan and Compton. Now working with FanDuel, the pair interviewed Trump during their time with Barstool Sports. Trump made several high-profile appearances on popular podcasts during his campaign, including “Bussin’ With the Boys.”

Having made their way onto White’s good side, the former NFL stars were included in Trump’s handshake tour, led by White, as he made his way to his seat. The pair can be seen shaking hands with the president before looking excitedly back at the camera.

Recent episodes of “Bussin’ With the Boys” have featured guests including Golden Tate, Clay Matthews, and Rob Gronkowski. Gronkowski’s episode is the clear leader in views, with 159,000. All of those episodes are dwarfed in views, though, except Trump’s episode, which currently stands at 479,000 views on YouTube alone.
