Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce is coming off arguably the worst statistical season of his 12-year career. He made the Pro Bowl for the 10th time but failed to surpass 1,000 yards for the second-straight season.
It’s hard to say Kelce had a tough year when he’s still dating megastar Taylor Swift, but one recently retired player had some fatherly advice for him on the newest “New Heights” episode.

Brandon Graham Gives Travis Kelce Advice on How To Interact With His Future Kids
Kelce is arguably the NFL’s greatest tight ends, being a four-time first-team All-Pro and surpassing 1,000 yards seven times. He’s been Patrick Mahomes’ favorite target since Mahomes became the starter in 2018, and the duo has led Kansas City to three Super Bowl Championships since 2019.
His best season was 2020, when Kelce posted 105 receptions, 1,416 yards, and 11 touchdowns. He was unstoppable all year and put up 31 catches, 360 yards, and three more scores in the team’s postseason run.
However, things have gotten rough on the field for the 12-year veteran in the last two seasons. His streak of seven-straight 1,000-yard seasons ended in 2023, with Kelce falling just short at 984. Last season was even worse, as he finished with just 823 yards despite hauling in 97 catches.
He hasn’t been the same on the field, but life seems to be going well off the field. Kelce began dating Swift in 2023, which brought huge outside interest to the NFL. Swift was the center of attention whenever she attended a Chiefs game, and Kelce joined her on tour during the 2024 offseason.
ESPN Analyst Stephen A. Smith recently speculated that the couple would get married in 2025, but they have yet to get engaged. Kelce co-hosts “New Heights” with his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles’ center Jason Kelce, and had recently retired Eagles’ defensive end Brandon Graham on to talk about life after football.
Graham plugged his new book for younger readers, to which Travis joked that it would help with his reading. Graham laughingly said, “As you get kids, man, you gonna wanna just give them everything you got. Make sure you’re ready when you’re ready, cause it’s gonna slow you down a little bit. In a great way.”
Joking about kids could be seen as a big step for fans of the Kelce-Swift power couple. Swift’s fans are arguably more passionate than any NFL fanbase and know just about everything about their favorite pop star. The couple has yet to get engaged, so kids seem pretty far down the line.
Travis has already confirmed he will return for a 13th season. If he’s waiting to start a family until he retires, he’ll have to wait at least one more year.
