The Sunday Night Football stage is set for another powerhouse season with a full slate of high-stakes matchups, franchise rivalries, and superstar quarterbacks on national television. The 2025 schedule features 18 games, including eight contests between 2024 playoff teams and multiple battles between division champions.

2025 Sunday Night Football Schedule: Heavyweights, Rivalries, and Rookie Watch
The Week 1 showdown starts with a bang as Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens hit the road to take on Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in a rematch of last year’s Divisional Round thriller. It also marks the final Sunday Night Football game at Highmark Stadium before the team moves into a new home in 2026.
The schedule doesn’t ease up from there. Week 4 features Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers facing Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys in one of the league’s most historic rivalries.
Two weeks later, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs take on Jared Goff’s Detroit Lions in a matchup of division winners and Super Bowl hopefuls. Mahomes and the Chiefs return again in Week 14 to face C.J. Stroud and the budding Houston Texans in a battle of AFC quarterback eras.
Thanksgiving weekend brings another primetime treat, as Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase visit Jackson and Derrick Henry in an AFC North clash with playoff implications.
The following week, Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams in a matchup of former No. 1 picks.
Fans will also get a glimpse of the NFL’s next generation of quarterbacks. Week 2 showcases Minnesota Vikings’ J.J. McCarthy and Atlanta Falcons’ Michael Penix Jr. in a battle between two 2024 first-round picks.
In Week 13, reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels leads the Washington Commanders against fellow 2024 NFL Draft classmate Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos — a game that could help shape the playoff race.
