Travis Hunter is one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft — if not the most. The two-way standout is locked in as a projected top-ten pick. Over three years of college football, Hunter impressed on both sides of the ball, strengthening his case to continue as a two-way player in the NFL.
On offense, Hunter totaled 1,258 yards and 16 total touchdowns touchdowns in 2024. On defense, he recorded 36 total tackles — 25 solo and 11 assisted — along with four interceptions. Those numbers are why former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky had a clear message for any team considering Hunter in the top three.

Dan Orlovsky’s Perfect Pitch for Travis Hunter
Orlovsky hasn’t hidden his excitement about Hunter’s draft potential. This time, though, he kept it short and strong.
“Run to the podium. Easy decision,” Orlovsky tweeted.
His tweet came in response to a debate over whether Hunter should be drafted by the Cleveland Browns at No. 2 or New York Giants at No. 3.
“If I’m the Browns, Travis Hunter would be my pick at No. 2. It’s an easy decision. If, for some reason, they don’t take him, and I’m the Giants, and it’s Shedeur Sanders or Travis Hunter — I really like Shedeur — this is an easy decision. I’m taking Travis Hunter. I’m taking Travis Hunter as quickly as possible,” Orlovsky said on “NFL Live.”
PFSN’s most recent 2025 NFL mock draft from Justin Lewis projects the Giants to draft Hunter at No. 3, pairing him with either Russell Wilson or Jameis Winston.
Since the Giants already drafted Malik Nabers to handle their receiving corps, Hunter could be used primarily as a cornerback. But they may also let him play both ways — strengthening the secondary while giving them an explosive option on offense alongside Nabers.
There’s also a strong chance the Browns take Hunter at No. 2, given their need for long-term depth at wide receiver alongside Jerry Jeudy. But with Deshaun Watson’s injury concerns, they’re also expected to explore depth at quarterback.
Earlier this offseason, Orlovsky floated a bold prediction on “The Pat McAfee Show” — that the Browns could pair Hunter with Kirk Cousins. “I think Kirk Cousins will eventually be with the Cleveland Browns. If I were the Browns and I was getting Cousins, I would draft Travis Hunter at (No. 2),” he said.
There are endless possibilities when it comes to Hunter’s role in the league. Only time will tell how the next chapter unfolds for the NFL’s most unique prospect.
