The Chicago Bears are one of the hottest teams in the NFL at 9-3, thanks to a pair of recent wins over playoff contenders. However, one of the NFC North leaders’ top players has been disciplined by the league office.
DJ Moore Fined for His Actions During the Bears’ Week 12 Win vs the Pittsburgh Steelers
While the Chicago Bears have a point differential of just +6, they sit one game back of the Los Angeles Rams for the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Ben Johnson’s team has made a living winning one-score games, largely thanks to a defense that is elite at generating turnovers.
In addition, the Bears’ offense is starting to find its rhythm under Caleb Williams, and one of the second-year quarterback’s most reliable targets has been DJ Moore. The eighth-year wideout has recorded 63 catches for 502 yards and three touchdowns through 12 games in 2025.
During his team’s 31-28 Week 12 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Williams hit Moore on a short pass to the right in the third quarter, gaining about five yards and moving the ball to Pittsburgh’s 24. After James Pierre and Joey Ramsey brought him down, Moore tossed the ball toward Pierre once the whistle blew, resulting in a taunting call.
Moore, now in the second season of his four-year, $110 million contract with the Bears, received a $11,593 fine.
No fines for any Steelers players for actions or infractions in the team’s Week 12 loss to the Bears.
Bears WR D.J. Moore, however, was fined $11,593 for his Unsportsmanlike Conduct/Taunting penalty for tossing ball at CB James Pierre. #Steelers #NFL pic.twitter.com/DD5GpW2wkF

Huge Divisional Matchups Await Moore and the Bears
The NFC North is once again stacked at the top, with several teams nipping at the Bears’ heels. In particular, the Green Bay Packers are right behind the division leader at 8-3-1 and still have yet to face Ben Johnson’s team this season. That ends in Week 14, when the Bears visit Lambeau Field on Dec. 7.
Caleb Williams and company will likely enter that matchup as underdogs, but this group is riding high on confidence after a shocking road win against the Philadelphia Eagles. The running back tandem of D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai combined for 225 yards and two touchdowns, while the defense forced two turnovers from star quarterback Jalen Hurts.
The 24-15 victory was a statement to the rest of the league that the Bears are evolving into an NFC contender. The passing game, however, has to continue to improve in the coming weeks, making Moore’s presence and production all the more critical.

The refs are a joke ,will throw a flag for that but misses a face mask call
DJ is not in the first year of his contract. Do a little homework.
$11k for that.
Thinking the call alone was too much.
