NFL Legend Terrell Owens Campaigns For Justice For Mississippi Teen Nolan Wells

Supporters seeking justice in the Nolan Wells case continue to speak up. Now, the previously outspoken Terrell Owens is strengthening the cause.

From Colin Kaepernick to Stephen A. Smith to Terrell Owens, ever since the public learned about Nolan Wells, all eyes have been on the news around the slain teenager.

Then, when the 18-year-old’s body was found on an island off the coast of Mississippi after taking a boating trip with his friends, the questions didn’t evaporate; they only got more inquisitive.

Owens, a former NFL receiver turned Canton Pro Football Hall of Famer, has already been vocal about the Wells case. Yet, he’s still not satisfied with the overall lack of progress in getting justice for Wells’ family.

Terrell Owens Backs Don Lemon’s Call for Justice in Wells Case

While Owens has been retired from the NFL since 2010, he recently resurfaced while calling on President Donald Trump to seek justice in the Wells case about two weeks ago. Not satisfied with the lack of progress, Owens is continuing his vocal support via his X social media profile, where he has collected a whopping 1.2 million followers.

Only, unlike last time when Owens took the time to personally plead for change, he’s channeling someone else’s words, those of Don Lemon, while using the hashtag “#JUSTICEFORNOLANWELLS.”

Here was Lemon’s message:

“So this is just into the newsroom, you know Ms Rachel?” Lemon asked. “Miss Rachel is now weighing in on Nolan Wells’ case. She posted this, she said, ‘We know the investigation and everything that followed would have been different if Nolan Wells were white and his friends were black. Nolan and his family deserve justice.’

“Now, whether you agree with her or not, one thing is clear. This case is reaching far beyond Mississippi. The more attention it gets, the more questions people are asking. And that’s why we are covering it. Not to reach conclusions, to keep following the facts until there are answers.”

That seems to be one of Owens’ main goals here too. Of course he’s not doing it to seek attention or get back in the limelight; he’s trying to use the platform he’s built for good. After all, he didn’t even offer his two cents this time; Owens just wanted to help spread Lemon’s message.

As Lemon said, “the more attention it gets, the more questions people are asking.” For a Wells family that’s still seeking answers, they’ll take all the help they can get.

Whether it’s from an NFL legend like Owens or another outspoken voice like Lemon, the more people that are willing to help, the closer his family gets to finding some peace in the aftermath of tragedy.
