As usual, each week of the NFL season has brought more injuries and concerns for teams, fans, and fantasy football managers. With several players questionable heading into Week 9, all eyes will be on Sunday’s NFL inactives for several reasons.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson did not receive an injury designation on the Friday injury report and will start against the Arizona Cardinals. In the same game, Kyler Murray is listed as questionable and could play for the first time since suffering a knee injury last season.
Let’s look at the Week 9 inactives for Sunday’s slate of games.
NFL Inactives for Week 9
Each week, teams may only dress 48 players, with added exceptions for quarterback and offensive line. You will see some list a QB as inactive and designate him as the “third quarterback” or “emergency quarterback,” meaning he can play if things get dire. Usually, teams will name between three and seven inactives, depending on roster size and practice-squad elevations.
