The tension between the Dallas Cowboys and linebacker Micah Parsons just keeps building, and fans across Dallas are left wondering what happens next. The uncertainty around Parsons’ future has reached a point where questions about a possible trade are louder than ever. With the owner, Jerry Jones, trying to reassure everyone, the story just keeps heating up. If you care about this defense, you want to know where Parsons will suit up come September.
What Are Micah Parsons’ Most Likely Trade Destinations if the Dallas Cowboys Make a Move?
Despite Jones telling Cowboys fans not to worry, there is plenty of anxiety about how this saga will end. Parsons officially requested a trade earlier this month, so the idea of him playing for someone else keeps gaining momentum.
ESPN’s “Get Up” brought in former New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum to brainstorm possible landing spots for Parsons. Tannenbaum didn’t just throw out team names; he had specific trade packages in mind for three teams that could use Parsons’ talent on defense.
First up, Tannenbaum floated the idea of the Buffalo Bills swinging a deal. His pitch: the Bills might send a pair of first-round draft picks and defensive tackle Ed Oliver to Dallas for Parsons. According to Tannenbaum, “Two first-round picks and Ed Oliver to go from Buffalo to Dallas. To me, this really makes sense for both sides. If I’m Buffalo with Micah Parsons, we can go beat the Chiefs, beat the Ravens, and get to the Super Bowl.”

Next, Tannenbaum suggested the Detroit Lions as a serious contender. In his scenario, Detroit would trade a first-round pick, two second-round picks, and safety Brian Branch. Tannenbaum explained, “The Detroit Lions, who desperately need another pass rusher, they trade a first-round pick, two 2nd round picks, and Brian Branch, a great young safety. If I’m the Detroit Lions with Micah Parsons and Aidan Hutchinson, we’re going to the Super Bowl.”
Finally, Tannenbaum proposed a trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His offer: a first-round pick, running back Bucky Irving, and defensive tackle Vita Vea for Parsons. Tannenbaum said, “The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, here we go. We’re gonna give up a first-round pick, Bucky Irving, a great young running back, and Vita Vea. You wanna stop the run? And let’s give Micah Parsons to the four-time NFC South Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Who says no to this?”
Meanwhile, the Cowboys are trying to stay focused as they get ready for a preseason showdown with the Baltimore Ravens at AT&T Stadium on Saturday evening. Even with all the noise off the field, Dallas knows football still has to be played.
