With the 2022 preseason schedule officially underway, are there any NFL games being played today, Thursday, Aug. 18? As we enter Week 2 of the NFL preseason, what does today’s slate have in store?
NFL games today | Thursday, Aug. 18
There is one NFL game being played on Thursday evening: an NFC bout between the Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks.
Chicago Bears at Seattle Seahawks
Time: 8 p.m. ET
TV channel: ESPN
Live Stream: Vidgo, fuboTV, NFL+
The Bears kicked off the team’s preseason schedule with a 19-14 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. We got to see the first look of Justin Fields in new offensive coordinator Luke Getsy’s offense, and the second-year quarterback uncorked a couple of impressive passes. Fields only threw seven attempts before being pulled from the game, so it’s possible he gets a more extended look in the second of the team’s three exhibition contests.
Pete Carroll and Co. are still looking for Seattle’s first win of the preseason after falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers 32-25 last week. The team’s heated quarterback battle between Geno Smith and Drew Lock is nearing its conclusion. While both put up strong outings last week, a strong performance by Smith against Chicago could go a long way toward making a final statement for the starting position. Lock will miss this game after testing positive for COVID.
