Following a long offseason, training camp, and preseason, the 2025 NFL season is almost here. Teams have finalized their 53-man rosters, and the preseason has officially ended as each franchise shifts its focus to preparing for the start of the regular season.
Are There Any NFL Games on August 30?
No, there are no games scheduled for today or tonight. The preseason officially ended last Saturday, August 23. With the preseason over, NFL teams are now turning their attention to their first meaningful games of the year.
The 2025 NFL regular season kicks off on Thursday, September 4, at 8:20 p.m. EST as the Dallas Cowboys face the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. The two NFC East rivals will get the season underway in the City of Brotherly Love.

Then, NFL fans won’t have to wait long for more regular-season action, as there will be a special Friday game on September 5 between the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs. This game will take place in São Paulo, Brazil — just like last year’s matchup between the Eagles and Green Bay Packers. The game kicks off at 8:00 p.m. EST with coverage on YouTube TV.
The first full Sunday slate of the NFL season gets underway on September 7. The Sunday Night Football game is a clash between the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills in a possible AFC Championship Game preview. Then, the Monday Night Football matchup is between NFC North rivals, the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears.
