It’s been over a week since the 2025 NFL Preseason got underway, and all the teams have played at least one game except the Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins, and New Orleans Saints. So, will these teams be in action today? Let’s find out.
Are There Any NFL Preseason Games on August 10?
Yes, two preseason matchups highlight Sunday’s schedule. The Saints, Dolphins, and Bears will each play their first preseason games, while the Chargers will be in action for the second time after defeating the Detroit Lions in the Hall of Fame game.
Here’s the complete NFL preseason schedule for Sunday, August 10:
Miami Dolphins vs. Chicago Bears
- Start Time: 1 p.m. ET
- Channel: NFL Network
New Orleans Saints vs. Los Angeles Chargers
- Start Time: 4:05 p.m. ET
- Channel: NFL Network
What To Look Forward to in Sunday’s Matchups
With Derek Carr’s sudden retirement earlier this offseason, the Saints’ quarterback position is uncertain and bound to fluctuate during the preseason. New Orleans has Jake Haener, Tyler Shough, and Spencer Rattler fighting for the QB1 spot, with the latter two likely having the best chance of becoming the QB1.

Rattler, a fifth-round pick from 2024, has appeared to be the frontrunner so far and is likely to start against the Chargers in the preseason opener. However, he went 0-6 as a starter last season, and unless he can have a highly impressive preseason, it won’t take much for Shough or Haener to overtake him.
On the other side, the Chargers are coming off an impressive win courtesy of Trey Lance against the Lions, and it will be interesting to see if the former third overall pick can carry the momentum into this game. If he does, he will solidify his role as the Chargers’ QB2.
Meanwhile, the Bears are still betting big on Caleb Williams, but he won’t be playing in the preseason opener. However, fans will get their first glimpse at tight end Colston Loveland and dynamic wide receiver Luther Burden III.
Chicago has a new coach in Ben Johnson, who is one of the most hyped first-time head coaches in recent memory. While that guarantees nothing, his arrival and new shiny weapons make the Bears an exciting team to watch.
The Dolphins will also likely sit out Tua Tagovailoa due to his injury history, despite the QB expressing a desire to play through the preseason. Seventh-round pick Quinn Ewers, who’s been turning heads in training camp, is likely to get most of the snaps alongside Zach Wilson. If the rookie can outperform Wilson, he will have a good chance of becoming the Dolphins’ QB2.
