What To Look Forward to in Saturday’s Matchups
With this being the final week of the preseason, we’ll see the final positional battles for those vying for the final few roster spots.
For example, the Ravens will have four running backs on the 53-man roster. Derrick Henry, Justice Hill, and Keaton Mitchell appear like easy projections, while Rasheen Ali, D’Ernest Johnson, and Myles Gaskin compete for that final slot.
I’m looking forward to seeing how the Commanders handle their backfield in that same game, especially with the news of Brian Robinson Jr. likely on the block. Do they hold out Jacory Croskey-Merritt, who seems the logical choice to take over most of the snaps if Robinson Jr. is dealt? That’s a great question.
Moving on to the Cleveland Browns, which quarterback is on the chopping block? Joe Flacco was named the Week 1 starter, but what does the team do about Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, and Kenny Pickett?
We’re also all still waiting on a resolution to the New Orleans Saints’ quarterback battle. Will it be Tyler Shough or Spencer Rattler?
On Saturday, August 23, 2025, 10 NFL preseason games, including the Saints vs. Broncos, are scheduled for Week 3, the final week of the preseason.

Shough has completed 24 of 34 passes (70.6%) for 231 yards, one touchdown, and one pick. Rattler has completed 25 of 35 passes (71.4%) for 252 yards, one touchdown, and one pick.
So, the stats are pretty much the same as the final quarterback battle comes to a close.
