Everything You Need to Know About the Hall of Fame Game
First held in 1962, the Hall of Fame Game has traditionally opened the NFL preseason and is played in Canton, Ohio, the league’s birthplace. This year, given Gates’ induction and the buzz surrounding both teams’ young stars, it ties in perfectly with the Chargers and Lions.
The game is part of a week-long celebration leading into Saturday’s Enshrinement Ceremony, where the Class of 2025 will be immortalized.

What To Expect
During Weeks 1-3, NFL Network will air 21 preseason games, while additional matchups air locally across team markets. Streaming is widely available via NFL+ (national and local), Fubo, DAZN, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, and select games on Peacock and Amazon Prime Video.
That means if you’re out of the market or a local broadcast isn’t available, NFL+ offers coverage for nearly all preseason matchups.
