Week 10 NFL Game Tonight | NFL Stream and Channel

Indianapolis Colts (5-3) at Tennessee Titans (6-2) – 8:20 PM ET | FOX, NFL Network

The Colts head to Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, to take on the Titans. This Week 10 opening NFL Thursday Night Football game kicks off tonight at 8:20 with broadcasts featured on both FOX and NFL Network.

This matchup starts a three-week slate of great Thursday Night Football games, and everything is on the line in the AFC South. The Titans have led the division all season but dropped two straight games after starting 5-0. A bounce-back win against the Chicago Bears has Tennessee sitting at 6-2 with a one-game lead over the Colts for first place in the AFC South.

NFL Games Today | How have these two teams stacked up so far?

It’s hard to judge the Colts season so far. Their wins have come against teams with a combined record of 13-28-1, and in their biggest test of the season so far, QB Philip Rivers and company came up short against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9. The game started out promising for Indianapolis, but two mistakes and a tired defense led to QB Lamar Jackson taking over and handing the Colts a 24-10 loss.

A win for each team in their upcoming matchups would keep the status quo in the division. However, the other two scenarios are more intriguing. If the Titans win both matchups, it would put them firmly in the driver’s seat to win the AFC South and continue their impressive season. But, if the Colts win both games, they would be tied with Tennessee for the AFC South at the very least, with the chance to be one game ahead, and would hold a head-to-head tiebreaker over them. So the stakes are higher than ever to make a statement in this opening game.

Back-to-back tests for the Indianapolis Colts defense vs Titans

Indianapolis’ strong run defense was tested in Week 9 and provided a tale of two halves. The Colts held the Ravens to just 54 yards in the first half and only faced a 14-10 deficit due to two costly turnovers from the offense. The Ravens then rolled for 212 second-half yards as the Colts defense was on the field for 33 and a half minutes.

The Colts face another test, with the first of the NFL games today schedule featuring one of the league’s most bruising running backs: Derrick Henry. He ran well against the Colts last season, and that will be the defense’s biggest test. Can the Colts contain and stop Derrick Henry like they did in the first half against the Ravens in Week 9?

If the Colts can stop Henry, the Titans offense shouldn’t worry too much. QB Ryan Tannehill has played well this season, and they can rely on him to put the team on his back should Henry get stuffed. Indianapolis has a young and inexperienced secondary at the moment. Pushing the ball down the field with their receiving core could really change this game for the Titans. Second-year WR A.J. Brown is coming into his own after missing Weeks 2 and 3 with a bone bruise in his knee. Brown has two 100-yard receiving games in the past three weeks, including a 153-yard bomb in Week 7.

However, if we are talking about throwing it deep, then watch for under-the-radar receiver Kalif Raymond. While he has only caught nine passes this season, he is averaging 20.8 yards per catch. With so many options on the field for Tannehill to throw it to, Raymond could slip in behind and set up the Titans with a few long bombs to ease the burden on Henry and the offense vs the Colts.

NFL Games Today | Signs of life from the Titans defense ahead of Thursday Night Football tonight?

Tennessee’s defense has been lackluster so far in the 2020 season, but last week’s dominance against the Bears was more in line with what we saw last season from this unit. The biggest takeaway from Week 9 was the defense’s third-down proficiency. The Titans had allowed teams to convert a league-high 62% of their third-down conversions heading into the matchup with Chicago.

The Bears completed two successful third-down conversions out of 15 attempts in Week 9. The Titans also saw immediate dividends from the trade for DB Desmond King, who played 70% of Tennessee’s defensive snaps and recovered a fumble and took it 63 yards to the house in the third quarter.

It seems as though the egg laid in Week 8 in Cincinnati has woken up this defense, not that the Bears’ offense is much of a challenge, but the performance was impressive. Philip Rivers struggled last week against the Ravens defense and was not very accurate.

If the Titans can keep the pressure on Rivers and force him into mistakes, this surging defense could overwhelm a Colts team that is not built to win come-from-behind games just yet. The NFL games today schedule gives us some suspense and high stakes to start the week, how nice and thoughtful.
