‘Cowboys Hotheads Picked The Wrong Guy To Mess With’ — NFL Fans React as WWE Hall of Famer’s Son Busts Out German Suplex In Huge Fight Vs. Dallas

Saints rookie Brock Rechsteiner sparks a viral moment by hitting a German suplex during a heated joint practice fight with the Cowboys.

NFL joint practices are supposed to help teams prepare for the regular season, but the meeting between the New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday quickly turned into something much more chaotic.

A heated exchange between the teams escalated into a brawl, with Saints rookie Brock Rechsteiner producing the moment that stole the show.

NFL Fans Stunned by Wild Cowboys-Saints Fight

The incident began during an intense 11-on-11 period when Cowboys cornerback Caelen Carson and Rechsteiner got into a post-whistle confrontation.

Things escalated when Carson grabbed at Rechsteiner’s facemask. Cowboys safety Jalen Thompson then stepped in to support his teammate.

That’s when Rechsteiner flipped the script. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound receiver got Thompson in a waistlock, lifted him off the ground, and delivered a German suplex onto the field.

Naturally, the clip quickly spread across social media. The wrestling connection made the moment even more entertaining. Rechsteiner is the son of Scott Steiner, a 2022 WWE Hall of Famer and one half of the legendary Steiner Brothers. He is also the cousin of WWE star Bron Breakker.

Fans and analysts immediately had fun with the unusual scene.

NFL analyst Ken Carman leaned into Scott Steiner’s famous 2008 TNA promo, joking about Rechsteiner’s chances in the fight.

“You could beat up most WRs, but Brock’s a genetic freak, so you got a 25% chance at BEST to beat him. Then you add in Kevin Austin, and your chances of winning go drastically down. You see, at joint practice, you got a 33 1/3 chance of winning, but Brock has a 66 and 2/3 chance of…” Carman said.

Coach Williams took a more critical view, pointing to the controversy surrounding Rechsteiner. “So dude is doing wrestling moves after testing positive for steroids. Good idea. He thinks he’s a football player, but maybe he needs to follow in his father’s footsteps,” Williams said.

NFL writer Jason Shetler focused on the wrestling side of the incident, joking that Rechsteiner could have gone for an even more iconic move. “Not using the Frankensteiner is a missed opportunity.”

One fan loved the way Rechsteiner handled the confrontation, writing: “The Cowboys hotheads picked the wrong guy to mess with at practice.”

Heather Skrub kept her reaction short and humorous, writing: “Testosterone is so back.” Another fan, Ryan, took the moment as a reason to get even more excited about the Saints’ season. “I’ve seen enough. We’re winning the Super Bowl this year.”

Rechsteiner’s Road to the Roster

The suplex may have made Rechsteiner a social media sensation, but the rookie still has plenty to prove on the football field.

Rechsteiner was previously handed a six-game suspension under the NFL-NFLPA Performance-Enhancing Substances Policy, adding another layer to the conversation surrounding the young receiver.

Joint practices are often physical, and fights are hardly unusual when teams spend several days competing against each other.

Still, it’s rare to see a wide receiver turn a football practice into a wrestling match.

Rechsteiner’s family background certainly made the moment more fitting. Whether he can make the Saints’ 53-man roster will ultimately depend on what he does with his football opportunities, but for now, the rookie has already given NFL fans one of the wildest joint-practice moments of the summer.
