Another week, another story of drama out of the Miami Dolphins. After securing their second win of the season, it seemed like things might finally be trending up for the team. However, their synergy took another blow early in the first quarter against the Baltimore Ravens.
A rough start led to a furious reaction from head coach Mike McDaniel, who couldn’t hide his displeasure with the team. As a result, fans wasted little to no time in coming to social media to poke fun at him.
What Sparked Mike McDaniel’s Furious Sideline Outburst Against the Ravens?
Starting the game strong, Miami was able to put up three on the board quickly before forcing a three-and-out on the Ravens. But things took a turn for the worse immediately afterward.
A fumble gave Baltimore extremely favorable field position, leading to a touchdown for the returning Lamar Jackson. However, it was the ensuing position for the Dolphins that really stuck at McDaniel’s grill.
Going down the length of the field, they had a 4th-and-1 opportunity at the 12-yard line that they were willing to go for. However, a false start penalty on Larry Borom pushed them back five yards.
Understandably, McDaniel was pissed, leading to an animated reaction as he threw down his headset. Fans, who had already given up on the season with a 2-6 start, found the situation extremely amusing, leading to some hilarious comments across social media.
With his name regularly appearing on the coaches’ hot seat, one fan believed the players would end up costing him his job. Others trolled, “When you’re on the hot seat, you gotta show you actually care about your job.”

Similar ideas were present elsewhere, too, as fans believed, “He’s locking in now cuz he knows he’s gonna get fired soon.” However, for most people, the magnitude of the game, at least for McDaniel, wasn’t lost on them.
“He’s coaching for his job. If he beats Baltimore tonight, he might save his career.” One fan, though, hilariously pointed out, “Probably his last week as HC. Goin out with a bang.”

Unfortunately, things may have gone from bad to worse in a heartbeat, as the 35-yard field goal attempt that Miami settled for went wide right, leaving Baltimore with the 7-3 lead. For some, the sequence of events was a clear indication of where the problem lay in Miami.
As one fan noted, “Don’t blame him, organization sucks,” another pointed to his compounding misery, “I would too his trash field goal kicker can’t make a 35 yard field goal.”

For a coach who has long been criticized for being too lenient with his players and the locker room, one fan believed his reaction was a welcome change of pace. As he pointed out, “He’s right TD chance missed due to a stupid penalty. He needs to shout em more often.”
It might not be enough to save the season, but it is clear that McDaniel cares about the team and their results, regardless of where they stand in the season. Their chances of making a playoff run are nigh-on dead, but if his passion could translate to the rest of the locker room, it might result in better football in Miami.
