Jason Kelce’s transition from NFL legend to media personality is taking another bold step. The retired Philadelphia Eagles center is set to host “They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce,” a new late-night show premiering Jan. 3 on ESPN. The series promises a mix of football legends, celebrity guests, and live music.
NFL Fans Are Not Sure What To Make of Jason Kelce’s Latest Show
Kelce announced his latest life update during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” where he revealed plans for the show to tape in front of a live audience at Union Transfer in Philadelphia. The five-episode series will air on Fridays at 1 a.m. ET through February and will coincide with the NFL playoffs.
“I’ve always loved late-night shows. We’re going to have a bunch of guys up there — legends of the game, friends, coaches, and celebrities,” Kelce said.
Despite his enthusiasm, social media reactions are mixed. One fan said, “Bro retired and then started working even more.”

Another chimed in, “Don’t mind this. He’s someone who translates well on screen. Plus his vast knowledge and experience. Will tune in and give the show a chance.”
However, some fans seem to feel oversaturated by Kelce’s name, especially with Jason’s brother, Travis, who is always in the headlines thanks to his relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift.
“What in the Illuminati is going on with the Kelces? Travis dates Swift and now the brothers are everywhere,” wrote one more.
One more commented, “I have nothing against the guy but I don’t get it.”
One fan backing the Eagles center for success said, “For anyone complaining about this… who the heck was genuinely watching ESPN on Saturday morning at 1 AM? This isn’t taking away valuable airspace. It’s not even taking away live programming Now, ‘Around the Horn’ getting canceled? That’s where our pitchforks can come out.”
Another fan just questioned, “Why are they pushing him like this?!”
Kelce’s media career has grown rapidly since his retirement after 13 seasons with the Eagles. He’s also a key figure on ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown and co-hosts a popular podcast – “New Heights” with Travis.
NFL Films will produce Kelce’s latest endeavor alongside his own Wooder Boy Productions. The series aims to blend football history with Kelce’s signature humor and charm.
While Kelce’s personality has made him a sought-after figure in sports media, some fans feel his presence is an overdo rather than a lasting legacy.
