NFL Fans Criticize Will Howard’s Disastrous Combine Performance

Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard struggled this past week at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. During his portion of the combine, Howard was seen consistently missing throws and failing to consistently connect with his wide receivers.

As a result of this, football fans have taken to social media to discuss what this could mean for Howard in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Social Media Reaction to Will Howard’s Scouting Combine Struggles

The popular football X profile ‘@_MLFootball’ posted a video showcasing the struggles of Howard at the Scouting Combine.

“TRENDING: Fans are saying Ohio State quarterback Will Howard’s combine performance yesterday was the worst of all time. 😳😳😳 Miss after miss after miss — could not even make the basic passes to his receivers. Wild,” the post was captioned.

In response, one individual jokingly made clear their belief that Howard would end up with the New York Jets.

“Welcome to the Jets,” they said.

Next, one person referenced a past quote by Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and outlined how important Howard’s pro-day will now be.

“I was thinking that while I watched it. Like Andy Reid said, ‘It was a bad day to have a bad day.’ He’ll have to have a phenomenal pro day to undo some of this damage,” they added.

Will Howard 2025 NFL Draft Projection

Though there has been a lot of criticism directed toward Howard in recent days, many analysts are not labeling the performance the worst in Scouting Combine history. While he did unquestionably struggle at the combine, Howard has proven at the college level that he is not as inaccurate as was on display last week.

This past year, Howard had 4,010 passing yards, 42 total touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and an impressive completion percentage of 73.1%. In addition to this strong stat line, Howard led the Buckeyes to a National Championship victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

In PFSN’s latest 7-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Howard was selected in the fourth round, No. 115 overall, by the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins currently have Tua Tagovailoa signed long-term at the QB position, however, he has struggled with various injuries over the past few years. As a result, it would make sense for the organization to have strong QB depth at the position.

For Howard, learning from and playing behind a star in Tagovailoa could prove very positive for his development and growth in the National Football League going forward.
