Week 6 of the college football season delivers a slate packed with NFL Draft scouting intrigue, as top prospects collide across the country. From Ohio State’s elite receiver duo facing Minnesota’s standout safety Kerry Brown to trench duels like Trevor Goosby vs. Tyreak Sapp, every matchup offers a fresh look at rising talent in the 2026 and 2027 draft classes.
Ohio State WRs Jeremiah Smith (2027), Carnell Tate vs. Minnesota SAF Kerry Brown
Carnell Tate is my current WR3 in the 2026 class, and Jeremiah Smith is a favorite to be a WR1 candidate in the 2027 cycle, but they’ll be tested by a stalwart Minnesota secondary with two clear NFL talents at safety in Koi Perich and Kerry Brown. Brown, in particular, has been a playmaker in both phases of the game. He can manage route concepts and find the ball in zone, and he’s an aggressive downhill defender, too. Ohio State would do well to respect these threats.
Texas OT Trevor Goosby vs. Florida EDGE Tyreak Sapp
Trevor Goosby had some early-season hype following in first-round pick Kelvin Banks Jr.’s footsteps, but he hasn’t been tested greatly to this point, and his film against Ohio State in Week 1 was up-and-down. At 6’7”, 312 pounds, Goosby has the frame and the length to overwhelm defenders, but his foot speed, balance, and down-to-down consistency all bring about questions. Tyreak Sapp – a well-leveraged, high-motor defender with burst, bend, and power – will be a big test for the redshirt sophomore OT.
Michigan State QB Aidan Chiles vs. Nebraska QB Dylan Raiola
Aidan Chiles is a QB to monitor each week as we work toward locking in the 2026 NFL Draft QB crop. Chiles single-handedly led the Spartans to a win against Boston College, and fought tooth-and-nail to keep them competitive against USC, until the Trojans outlasted them late. If Chiles can keep putting together NFL-quality reps while leading Michigan State past a more complete team in Nebraska, it’ll be another notable moment for his NFL Draft journey.
Virginia OT McKale Boley vs. Louisville EDGE Clev Lubin
Louisville’s Clev Lubin carries the second-highest PFSN EDGEi grade with a score of 98.44, and is one of just two edge rushers in all of college football to have an A+ score in the database. He leads all qualifying edge rushers with a PFF pressure percentage of 28.4% – of which he’s converted four sacks. Simply put, Lubin has been a nightmare for opposing offenses.
While length and ultimate athleticism concerns might dilute his stock a bit, he still has more than enough baseline burst, bend, leverage, and hand power to command mid-round capital as a pass-rush specialist. McKale Boley has the strong center of gravity, length, and square matching ability to contend with Lubin, but a lack of balance and apex range could be to his detriment. This game could help us determine if Boley is better served to move to guard in the NFL.
Alabama OT Kadyn Proctor vs. Vanderbilt EDGE Miles Capers
Kadyn Proctor has struggled to start the 2025 campaign, and in Week 6, he’ll be tested by a sleeper in Vanderbilt’s Miles Capers. In previous years, Capers has mainly presented as a raw but tools-rich rush linebacker. This year, however, he’s bulked up to almost 250 pounds at 6’4”, and through just five games, he already has a career-high in sacks with 3.5, as well as 7.5 tackles for loss. A springy linear athlete with playmaking range, Capers will test Proctor, and if he disrupts Alabama’s offensive game plan, it could be a statement game for him.
Cincinnati WR Jeff Caldwell vs. Iowa State CB Jontez Williams
Jeff Caldwell cracked the Feldman’s Freaks list in the summer, with a documented 11’9” broad jump, 36.5” vertical, and 1.5 10-yard split at almost 6’5” and 209 pounds. His 2025 campaign has been relatively quiet thus far, save for an 100-yard outing against Bowling Green, but he has a prove-it game on tap against Iowa State’s Jontez Williams. On the flip side, Williams – a fringe Top 100 prospect on my board – will be tested by Caldwell’s vertical ability and authority at the catch point.
Williams is feisty, intelligent, and well-versed in both man and zone, and if his vertical athleticism holds true, it could be a “stock up” milestone for him.
