What Is the Meaning Behind the NFL’s 2025 Crucial Catch Colors?

Throughout its history, the NFL has chosen to use its platform for good and has been a real pioneer in its efforts to spearhead important causes. The Crucial Catch campaign is another one of the many good things the league stays committed to doing.

Since 2009, the NFL and the American Cancer Society have joined forces to battle cancer. Together, they have raised over $30 million and impacted over 1.8 million people in communities that need it most.

The tie-dye gear worn by players and coaches is part of the NFL’s Crucial Catch campaign, highlighting the importance of early cancer detection and treatment. Proceeds from the merchandise support the American Cancer Society’s Community Health Advocates through the Nationwide Grants for Empowerment and Equity (CHANGE) program, helping expand education and outreach efforts.

The campaign runs during Weeks 4–6 of the regular season, with players wearing Crucial Catch apparel on the sidelines and during warmups to raise awareness. Fans can get involved by purchasing official merchandise through Fanatics, including t-shirts, hoodies, and hats, with proceeds benefiting Breast Cancer Awareness Month programs.

What Is the Meaning Behind the NFL’s 2025 Crucial Catch Colors?

Several players have helped bring the NFL’s Crucial Catch campaign to life by sharing their personal experiences. New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau became a prominent advocate for cancer awareness after a routine physical revealed Stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma. Following successful treatment, Moreau achieved full remission and later signed a three-year, $12 million deal with the Saints.

Minnesota Vikings fullback C.J. Ham has also been deeply involved, dedicating his efforts to honoring his late mother, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2021. Named the 2024 ACS Ambassador of the Year, Ham continues to raise awareness through his annual “Pamper Her Purple” event, providing comfort, support, and resources to those affected by cancer in his community.

“As a family member of someone who has been diagnosed with cancer, you get to see that fight right in front of you,” Ham said last year. “You see how hard it is; it was a hard fight for my mom. She wasn’t healed physically on this earth, but she was healed spiritually and she’s now with our Father in Heaven – that’s what I believe.

“After seeing [her fight], I get to say that she was the strongest individual I’ve ever seen,” he added. “And I know there are so many women in this room who decided to do the same thing – to be the strongest [women they can be].”

Through the Crucial Catch campaign, the NFL continues to use its platform to raise awareness, honor survivors, and promote early detection. Players, coaches, and fans come together under the campaign’s vibrant tie-dye theme, sharing personal stories and showing how football can create meaningful impact well beyond the field.
