LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell was considered one of the best tackles in this year’s class, and the New England Patriots made him the fourth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
A lot of media buzz was made about Campbell’s arm length and how it could prevent him from being a top-tier tackle in the NFL. One analyst thinks that argument is stupid, and recently let Campbell’s detractors hear about it.
Kay Adams Hates the Arm Length Argument Against Will Campbell
The true junior appeared in 37 games over his three years at LSU and was named an All-American in his final season. He entered the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine as the top tackle available, but his measurables left some to be desired.
Campbell measured 6’5 7/8″, 319 pounds, but his arm length was just 33 inches. This is below-average for starting NFL tackles, and many pundits felt it would limit him at the next level. PFSN’s Ian Cummings had the LSU product as his second offensive tackle, but didn’t consider that a slight.
Cummings wrote, “There are two OT prospects in the top-10 of PFSN’s 2025 NFL Draft board. Will Campbell is the second-ranked of the two, but that’s not at all a slight on him. Campbell is a near blue-chip prospect, with the makings of a high-end starter at offensive tackle in the NFL. Campbell has under 33″ arms and plays a bit tall at 6’6″, 320 pounds. But he just makes it work, in spite of those two notable limitations.”
New England did not seem to care about Campbell’s arm length and made him the first tackle off the board at No. 4. The Patriots need help on the offensive line after allowing the fourth-highest sack total (52) in 2024.
The debate over Campbell’s arm length reached Kay Adams. The former Good Morning Football host is sick and tired of thinking the New England rookie will be limited by something that hasn’t stopped other top-tier tackles.
The “Up & Adams” host tweeted a clip from a recent episode with the message, “Here’s why 33-inch arm length Will Campbell will crush… @Patriots @will_campbell66″

She said, “I never thought anything could irritate me more than hand size Twitter until I found myself on the arm length Twitter side of TikTok and Twitter yesterday, and everyone, oh my gosh, to those of you insane enough to think that Will Campbell cannot succeed because his arms are only 33 inches voila,”
Adams pulled up a graphic of notable offensive tackles with arm lengths under 34 inches. The list included Joe Thomas, Jason Peters, Penei Sewell, Rashawn Slater, Taylor Lewan, and Donald Penn.
She said, “Feast your eyes on this, people. Heard of these guys?” She ran through the list and continued, “These are tackles with arms in the 33-inch range. Okay, shut up! We’ve seen the comps to Taylor Lewan. He likes those comps with the athleticism, the power, an edge that Will Campbell has out there.
“He’s gonna be on a level with all these guys soon. I have no doubt about it, and we’re gonna look back and we’re gonna be like, ‘Arm length Twitter, you’re so stupid.’ You know what wasn’t stupid, what the Patriots were able to pull off.”
New England finished 26th in PFSN’s Offense+ metric last season and needs to put all resources behind quarterback Drake Maye. That includes protecting him and having a competent run game to share the load. The Patriots finished 28th in EPA per play and 30th in points per drive last year. Campbell won’t fix everything by himself, but he’ll likely be the cornerstone for New England’s next run of success.
