It’s a completely new era in New York Jets land — again — as they hired a new head coach in Aaron Glenn and said goodbye to the Aaron Rodgers-Davante Adams experiment. The Jets have eight picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, and despite acquiring Justin Fields as the new QB1 for $40 million over two years, they are predicted to select a QB of the future in the 2025 NFL Draft.
PFSN’s latest seven-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft from Brentley Weissman breaks down all eight of the Jets’ picks, which include a tight end, a defensive lineman, and a quarterback at the top of the draft haul.

7) Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
After losing Tyler Conklin, the Jets need a new tight end, and in Weissman’s mock draft, they land the No. 1 prospect, Tyler Warren. “The New York Jets will be entering a rebuilding phase this season as they move forward with their new regime. While they certainly have needs to address, taking the best player available might be the smart move,” Weissman said.
“Tyler Warren is a unique playmaking tight end who can do many different things. With Justin Fields now at quarterback, investing in a tight end who can be a pass-catching option but also has run-blocking chops makes sense.”
Warren could be exactly what the Jets need at tight end. He is one of the most versatile players in the 2025 NFL Draft and exploded in 2024 with 104 receptions, 1,233 yards, and eight touchdowns (26 total in his career, including a passing score).
42) Kenneth Grant, IDL, Michigan
New York’s defense regressed slightly in 2024 after being a top-five unit in recent seasons. The Jets didn’t make significant changes on defense in free agency but could regain their dominance by selecting Michigan’s Kenneth Grant.
“Kenneth Grant is a physical freak with rare movement skills for a player his size. He is excellent at setting the point of attack and has some surprising pass-rush ability. He would be a great addition to an already talented Jets defensive front,” Weissman said.

Standing at 6’4″ and 331 pounds, Grant started 12 games in 2024 and produced 32 tackles, seven tackles for loss, three sacks, and 23 quarterback hurries.
73) Tyler Shough, QB, Louisville
New York handed a two-year, $40 million deal to Fields with $30 million in guaranteed money, signaling he’s set to be the QB1. However, Fields can be inconsistent, and adding a safety blanket in the form of Tyler Shough, an NFL-ready QB, is a good move.
“No quarterback has been rising up draft boards this offseason more than Tyler Shough. I don’t quite see the Round 1 or 2 hype, but I think at this point in the third round, he is a good bet. Shough is an athletic quarterback who possesses a very live arm and playmaking skills,” Weissman said.
Shough is a mature prospect, having scored 70 total touchdowns and played seven seasons of college football across three major programs — Oregon, Texas Tech, and Louisville. His most productive season came in 2024, his first year with the Cardinals, where he started all 12 meaningful games, finishing with 3,195 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and just six interceptions.
110) Dont’e Thornton, WR, Tennessee
The Jets lack a reliable receiver beyond Garrett Wilson, and with Adams also gone, adding Dont’e Thornton to Fields’ weapons makes sense. Thornton possesses dynamic athletic ability and big-play potential and knows how to set up defensive backs. He is coming off a career-best year with Tennessee in 2024, recording 661 yards and six touchdowns at an impressive average of 25.4 yards per catch.
145) Jabbar Muhammad, CB, Oregon
New York is predicted to further strengthen its defense and fill the void left by D.J. Reed’s departure in free agency with Oregon CB Jabbar Muhammad. He possesses quick twitch, footwork, and a competitive attitude, finishing the 2024 season with 41 total tackles (22 solo) while leading the Ducks and the Big 12 with 12 pass breakups.
162) Jack Kiser, LB, Notre Dame
The Jets re-signed Jamien Sherwood this offseason to keep the linebacker room intact, and now they add a solid backup option in Notre Dame’s Jack Kiser. While he is one of the oldest players in the draft, Kiser led the Fighting Irish with 90 tackles while adding five tackles for loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 2024.
186) Devin Neal, RB, Kansas
Only one of the Jets’ running backs, Breece Hall, managed to top 500 rushing yards last season, and with no additions in free agency, Devin Neal could prove to be a game-changing addition late in the fifth round. He brings explosive athleticism and dual-threat ability, having topped 1,000 rushing yards in three of his four seasons.
207) Aeneas Peebles, DT, Virginia Tech
New York closes out the 2025 NFL Draft with a backup defensive tackle in Virginia Tech’s Aeneas Peebles. He is coming off an impressive first and only season with the Hokies, posting 31 tackles (11 solo) and three sacks. Peebles played his first four college seasons at Duke.
No RT or SS for the Jets? No Edge?
I like the additions of Warren, Grant and Thornton, but hate the rest of the draft. IMO the Jets absolutely need to add a RT early, and Edge at some point, and a SS in the 5th round. They also need more of a run-stuffing NT than a DT and they can get one of those in the 4th or 5th round. I like Grant, but imo they’d be better served adding Conerly, Ersery or Trapilo at some point and taking an NT later.
