Last season saw the New York Giants finish with a losing record for the sixth time in the last seven seasons. In fact, in the 12 years since their Super Bowl championship season of 2011, the Giants have had a winning record just three times.
So, what should be expected from the Giants this season? Here’s their outlook for 2024.

Giants Offense
The Giants do get quarterback Daniel Jones back after he missed all but six games last season with a torn ACL. Whether that’s a positive or negative for New York remains to be seen.

The Giants’ biggest offseason move may have been watching Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley head on down to the Philadelphia Eagles. Devin Singletary will attempt to replace Barkley, but the biggest reason for optimism with the Giants’ offense is probably rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers.
The Giants are hoping Jones can get all the way back from his injury, that Singletary can do a decent job replacing Barkley, and Nabers can turn into the next great wide receiver in the NFL.
That certainly is asking a lot at this point.
Giants Defense
As bad as the Giants were on offense last season, they weren’t a whole lot better defensively, ranking in the bottom 10 of the NFL in scoring defense (26th) and total defense (27th).
At least New York went out and tried to address its defensive issues, acquiring pass rusher Brian Burns from the Carolina Panthers and giving him a huge deal (five years, $150 million).
Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux could form one of the best pass-rushing duos in the league.
One Betting Trend to Know
Not surprisingly, since their offense was 30th in scoring, all five of the Giants’ games last season vs. AFC opponents went under the total, and there are a lot of reasons to expect the same to happen this season.

The Giants’ AFC opponents this season include the Baltimore Ravens (No. 1 in scoring defense), the Cleveland Browns (No. 1 in total defense), and the Pittsburgh Steelers (No. 6 in scoring defense).
New York also hosts the Cincinnati Bengals and Indianapolis Colts, two of the league’s worst defenses, so perhaps there is hope for a game going over the total after all.
Best Bet for Giants in 2024
Getting over the 6.5 win total might be tough for the Giants this season. The NFC East appears to be as strong as ever, assuming the Washington Commanders are an improved team. Although they were 3-3 vs. the NFC East last season, that may not be as easy for the Giants to replicate in 2024.
Outside the division, the Giants will play the AFC North teams and NFC South teams this year. It doesn’t seem like getting to seven wins is realistic.
Although they aren’t the best odds (-135), taking the under on 6.5 wins is probably the best option when it comes to making a futures bet on the Giants this season.
