‘Time for a New Staff’ — Calls Mount for Buccaneers to ‘Fire Todd Bowles’ After Tampa Bay’s Loss to Saints

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ loss to the Carolina Panthers weighed heavily on fans, with many criticizing head coach Todd Bowles.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers disappointed their fans on Sunday. Playing against the New Orleans Saints, they were expected to have an easier game in their fight for the NFC South. But they lost 24-20, and their divisional hopes suffered a major blow during the Carolina Panthers’ bye week.

This was not a game the Buccaneers could afford to lose. They are now tied with the Panthers in the division, with no advantage and four weeks to go, including two head-to-head games. The loss weighed heavily on the fanbase, with many critics targeting head coach Todd Bowles.

Buccaneers Fans Want Todd Bowles Fired After Loss To Saints

The Saints were already eliminated and entered the game with a 2-10 record at Raymond James Stadium, home of the Buccaneers. There was no reason to believe Tampa Bay would let this game slip.

But they did, with rookie quarterback Tyler Shough making impressive plays against a depleted defense. Fans expecting an easy win were disappointed, and much of the fury was directed at Bowles.

One fan listed those he believed performed poorly, calling for a full house cleaning: “Todd Bowles sucked. Josh Grizzard sucked. The offense sucked. The defense sucked. The players sucked. Time for a new staff.”

Another fan wrote, “Defending Todd Bowles at this point tells me you got a brain eating amoeba.”

Another believes this loss could seal Bowles’ fate if the Buccaneers miss the playoffs: “Todd Bowles likely sealed his fate today.”

“I could have caught a pass up the middle against this defense today and I’m 55! What joke! Fire Toilet Bowles now!!!!!” another fan said.

“I Hate Todd Bowles As Our Coach Even When We Win!” another added.

Even media pages also criticized the performance. The two remaining games against the Panthers could determine his future, and Bucs page Pewter Report wrote: “Todd Bowles deserves all the heat coming his way after losing four of the last five since the bye week.”

The Week 18 game against the Panthers could have major playoff implications for both teams. With the NFC South unlikely to send multiple teams to the postseason under the current wild-card setup, Week 18 may effectively be a “win or go home” matchup.
