Netflix Announces a New NFL Show Hosted by a Cowboys Legend

This Dallas Cowboys legend is taking his talents to podcasting, joining a new Netflix podcast as a key member.

The Dallas Cowboys are one of the most polarizing franchises in the NFL. They are considered “America’s Team” for a reason: everyone seems to have an opinion on them (good or bad). They have won five Super Bowls and boast many Hall of Fame players to accompany their achievements. And now, Netflix has nabbed one of the legends from the past and put him on their payroll.

One of the ‘Triplets’ To Takeover Netflix Podcast

One of the most prominent players in Cowboys history was wide receiver Michael Irvin. He was one of the ‘Triplets’, which consisted of Irvin, Troy Aikman, and Emmitt Smith.

Now, in his post-football career, he is going to start podcasting. Irvin has joined Netflix and will be featured on a new podcast called “The White House with Michael Irvin.”

When most people think of Netflix, they think of a streaming service for TV shows and movies. However, they have found their way into other markets of late. We saw Netflix host two NFL games on Christmas Day, and both had incredible ratings. Now that Netflix is getting into podcasting, you can assume many NFL fans will be interested in hearing what Irvin and his guests have to say.

Netflix released a promo for the podcast saying, “It will tackle current sports news, game analysis, and commentary with two episodes a week, featuring a rotating roster of co-hosts, including former NFL All-Pro wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who will also produce the show.”

Irvin has always been an outspoken person, from his days as a player, when he appeared in the movie “The Longest Yard,” to his time at NFL Network. He has always been an outgoing person and someone who would excel in a podcast format.

This podcast will be one of many hosted by a former NFL player across many different platforms. Others include “New Heights” with Jason and Travis Kelce. Also, “The Pivot” featuring Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor, and Channing Crowder.

Podcasts Continuing To Do Great

Back in the day, podcasts weren’t even a thing; if people wanted to learn about specific topics, they would listen to the radio or to CDs. Now, there seems ot be a podcast for everything, and they can be accessed quite easily.

This NFL podcast will remain the same, as it should provide fans with an in-depth look into the league and offer insights from a player’s perspective.

This podcast is set to begin on Monday, January 19th, immediately following the divisional round of the playoffs. All eyes are on playoff football, and you can bet people will be interested to hear what Irvin has to say about the games.
