Who Will Replace Stephen Curry For the NBA All-Star Game? Insider Announces Major News On Warriors Star

Stephen Curry will not be able to participate in the All-Star game, despite being voted as one of the starters. Find out who will replace him in Sunday’s All-Star Game.

Stephen Curry’s All-Star Game Replacement Has Been Decided

Curry has now missed four straight games and is set to miss some more, including the All-Star Game on Sunday. The Golden State Warriors superstar has been dealing with patellofemoral pain syndrome in his right knee, which has caused his absence.

His team in the All-Star Game won’t be shorthanded, though, with the league choosing his replacement. According to NBA Insider Shams Charania, Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram will take Curry’s place.

Curry’s absence from the All-Star Game doesn’t seem to be just a case of him opting to rest. He has also already been ruled out of his team’s game against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday due to his injury, which is their final game before the All-Star break.

The team reportedly hopes he’ll be back in the lineup for their first game after the All-Star weekend. That contest will be on February 19 against the Boston Celtics.

Ingram, who is replacing Curry, was considered by some as one of the snubs after the final list of All-Stars was released.

This season, the Raptors forward has averaged 22.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists through 52 outings. He’s been an efficient scorer, having made 47.2 percent of his shots so far this season while averaging 17.3 attempts per game. This selection will be his second All-Star appearance, with the first one dating back to 2020.

He’ll be joining the USA Stripes, where he’ll play alongside Jaylen Brown, Jalen Brunson, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, Donovan Mitchell, and Norman Powell. Their team will be coached by San Antonio Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson.

Ingram is also the second player from the Raptors to be named to this year’s All-Star game. The other is Scottie Barnes, who is playing for the other USA team, the USA Stars.

So far, Ingram is the second All-Star replacement to be named for Sunday’s event. The first was Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun, who’ll be playing for Team World. Sengun was named as a replacement for Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Gilgeous-Alexander is dealing with an abdominal strain and has already missed three straight games, and is set to miss the remaining two on his team’s schedule ahead of the All-Star break.
