WATCH: Myles Turner Met with Hostile Reaction from Pacers Fans in First Return Since Shocking Free Agency Exit

For the first time since the 2025 NBA Finals, Myles Turner came back to play in Indiana. However, this time around, he suited up for the Milwaukee Bucks. While Turner’s decision to join the Bucks happened over the summer, it wasn’t until Monday that we actually heard how Indiana Pacers fans felt about his abrupt exit.

Myles Turner Booed by Pacers Fans

The Bucks took on the Pacers on Monday night. It was the first time seeing Turner play in Indiana, suiting up for a different team. Despite suddenly deciding to sign with the Bucks over the summer, the Pacers organization gave Turner his flowers and presented a tribute video of him before the game started.

Turner was a key figure in the Pacers’ success last season. He helped Tyrese Haliburton lead their team to the 2025 NBA Finals, taking the Oklahoma City Thunder to seven games. Despite their loss, nobody expected Turner to leave the Pacers, given the success they’ve found last year.

Because of his decision, the crowd in attendance on Monday made sure to let him know how they felt about his decision. Fans in the Gainbridge Fieldhouse arena showered Turner with boos during the Pacers’ presentation of their tribute video to him.

To make things worse, every time Turner was playing on the hardwood, the audience would consistently boo him to throw him off his game. However, the former Pacers big man tried to remain composed throughout the night. There was one instance when Turner hit a 3-pointer and then booed back at the hostile crowd.

Ultimately, Turner and the Bucks got the last laugh as they beat the Pacers 117-115. Despite the victory, it was clear that Turner was slightly affected by his homecoming as he had an underwhelming performance. Looking at his numbers on Monday, he only scored nine points. However, it was his defense that stood out, notching seven rebounds and five blocks.

Turner Revealed Why He Left the Pacers

In early July 2025, Turner did the unthinkable and signed a four-year deal worth $108.8 million with the Bucks. While this caught Pacers fans by surprise, Turner had his reasons for doing so. On July 15, Turner was invited to appear on SiriusXM NBA Radio, where he explained his side of the story.

“I feel that Milwaukee valued me a bit more, and I think that they tried a little bit harder,” Turner said. “But at the end of the day, it’s not for me to discuss right now, out of respect for [Indiana], out of respect for my incoming organization. It was an interesting process.”

While his explanation was a bit vague, there’s a hint that the Bucks probably offered more money compared to what the Pacers could pay him.
