The Golden State Warriors will host the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday, March 25, but Stephen Curry will not be on the floor. The veteran guard remains sidelined with a knee injury, extending his absence to 23 consecutive games during a crucial stretch of the season.

Latest Update on Stephen Curry’s Return Timeline
Curry’s continued absence comes as Golden State tries to stabilize its position in the Western Conference. The team has gone 7-15 since his injury, struggling to maintain offensive consistency without its primary scorer and playmaker. With just weeks remaining in the regular season, the Warriors have slipped to 10th in the standings and are currently in play-in territory.
Earlier updates had suggested potential progress. Anthony Slater of ESPN reported over the weekend that Curry had been ruled out for two games but was expected to be integrated into live practice soon, with a reevaluation planned once the team returned home for its game against the Nets.
However, that timeline has been pushed back. Speaking with “NBA Today” host Malika Andrews, Slater confirmed that Curry will remain out against Brooklyn as he continues working toward clearance for full scrimmage activity.
“Steph Curry will remain out tomorrow vs Nets, per source, as he tries to get cleared for a scrimmage setting,” Slater said.

Curry was also not cleared for a full scrimmage earlier in the week before Golden State’s game against the Atlanta Hawks. Instead, he has continued controlled on-court workouts and rehabilitation under the supervision of the team’s medical staff.
Head coach Steve Kerr, meanwhile, emphasized a cautious approach regarding Curry’s recovery.
“If we don’t feel good about [Steph’s knee], then he’s not going to play. We’re not pushing him into anything if things aren’t really clear,” Kerr said on March 24.
The decision reflects the team’s long-term concerns as any setback could further impact its playoff hopes.
Curry has been a key contributor this season, averaging 27.2 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game. His absence has been felt on both ends, particularly in late-game situations where the Warriors have struggled to generate reliable offense.
The Warriors’ injury report for the Nets game highlights additional challenges for Golden State. Stephen, Seth Curry, and Quinten Post are all listed as out. Moses Moody and Jimmy Butler have been ruled out for the remainder of the season, while Al Horford is also unavailable due to calf issues.
The situation became more difficult after Moody suffered a season-ending torn patellar tendon in his left knee during Monday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks. His absence removes another key rotation player as the team looks to stay competitive.
With only 10 games remaining, Golden State faces increasing pressure to secure its place in the postseason. Its likely path runs through the play-in tournament, but that scenario becomes more uncertain without Curry’s return.
The Warriors had hoped Curry would be closer to returning as they began this homestand against the Nets, especially with their playoff position becoming increasingly fragile. For now, the focus remains on Curry’s recovery, though, with no confirmed timeline for his return to game action.
