Jérémy Gohier is often compared to NBA superstar Victor Wembanyama. At only 15 years old, the Canadian is already 7-foot-6, which makes the linkage inevitable.
Recently, a video of Gohier putting on a dominant performance for Canada Elite in the AAU has the NBA world buzzing.

“7’6” Jeremy Gohier is literally following in Wemby’s footsteps, and in a couple of years, he hopes to be a top NBA prospect,” the Spurs Reporter added.
In the clip that has since gone viral, Gohier received a pass in the middle of the paint and slammed the ball with authority. The opponent did not even bother to jump and challenge the towering center.
“7’6 15-year-old looks like a GROWN MAN,” the Hoop Herald continued.
An X user wrote: “This is 15-year-old Canadian basketball prospect Jérémy Gohier. He’s already 7-foot-6. Absolutely absurd.”

“There’s a 7’6 15-year-old in Canada. The league is on notice,” Barstool Sports reacted.
Gohier’s dominance, due to his height, has led many to liken him to Wembanyama, the Spurs’ 7-foot-4 superstar.
Wemby was called a generational talent when he entered the NBA in 2023. The Frenchman isn’t the usual big man who lives in the paint. He has the handles of a guard, shoots 3-pointers, and runs the floor like wings.
Three seasons into the NBA, Wemby is already the Defensive Player of the Year and an MVP contender. The DPOY could have been his in his second year, but a blood clot prematurely ended his season.
Gohier is also mobile and already an impactful defender. He debuted for Canada in the 2025 FIBA U16 AmeriCup, where he was the youngest and tallest player.
In six games with his national team, he averaged 2.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 0.2 assists per game. The phenom made 46.7% of his shots to help his team to a silver finish.
Against Team USA in the finals, he started and grabbed 2 rebounds in five minutes. Despite Canada’s 108-71 loss, the basketball world already noticed the emerging star.
To sharpen his skills even more, Gohier is following in Wembanyama’s footsteps. Early this month, the Canadian signed with Nanterre 92, the team Wemby played for from 2019 to 2021.
If Gohier develops as expected, NBA analysts predict he will be a first-round pick in the 2029 draft. NBA Draft Room already sees him as the fourth-best center in that class.
