‘Can’t Believe He’s Doing This’ – Stephen Curry Stuns Warriors Coach Steve Kerr With Iconic 52-Point Game vs. Memphis

Just when it seemed like Stephen Curry couldn’t surprise us anymore, he delivered yet another jaw-dropping performance. In his third game back from a pelvis injury, the 37-year-old superstar erupted for 52 points against the Memphis Grizzlies, leading the Warriors to a 134-125 win.

It wasn’t just the fans who were left in awe; head coach Steve Kerr could hardly believe what he had just witnessed.

Kerr’s Candid Praise for Stephen Curry’s Unbelievable Feat

After the game, Kerr couldn’t hold back his admiration. “I can’t believe he’s still doing this at this age, but he’s put the work in. He’s still got it,” he said, highlighting Curry’s tireless work ethic.

The Warriors coach even joked about what might have helped Curry get back to peak form, adding, “I think [the week off] helped and I think two rounds of golf on this road trip helped. I’m only half-joking. The week off was helpful for him. He looks recharged, rejuvenated.”

Kerr was visibly stunned by Curry’s ability to dominate despite constant defensive pressure. “The guy is 37 years old. Just incredible. Fifty-two points with people draped all over him all game long. The conditioning, the skill, the audacity, the belief—it’s just incredible to watch Steph at work.”

And it wasn’t just about scoring. Curry stuffed the stat sheet with 10 rebounds, 8 assists, and 5 steals, proving once again that he’s far more than just a shooter.

Curry’s Historic Return After Pelvis Injury

Curry’s 52-point masterpiece wasn’t just a show, it was a historic achievement, made even more impressive by the fact that he’s still fresh off an injury. After missing time due to a pelvic contusion which he suffered against the Toronto Raptors on March 20, he returned just three games ago. Yet he didn’t miss a beat, putting up one of the most dominant performances of his career.

He shot 16-of-31 from the field (51.6%), including a scorching 12-of-20 from three (60%). That’s the eighth time in his career he has scored at least 50 points while shooting 50% from the field and 60% from three, surpassing Michael Jordan on that exclusive list.

His blazing-hot 32-point first half also placed him in elite company, tying LeBron James for the third-most 30-point halves (22) in the play-by-play era, trailing only Kobe Bryant and James Harden. But Curry wasn’t done rewriting history.

He passed Rick Barry for the second-most 50-point games in Warriors history, with only Wilt Chamberlain ahead of him. And in yet another milestone, he leapfrogged Jerry West to claim 25th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

Already the NBA’s most prolific three-point shooter, Curry extended his own record for the most 10+ 3-pointer games to 27.

With the victory, Golden State (44-31) strengthened its hold on the fifth seed in the Western Conference, keeping Memphis at bay. The Warriors have seven games left in the regular season, and if Curry keeps performing at this level, their playoff berth is almost secured.
