Stephen Curry Injury Update: Warriors Superstar Delivers Massive News on Tailbone Injury

The Warriors faced a major concern after Stephen Curry sustained his injury against the Toronto Raptors on March 21. The team’s offensive reliance on Curry left them struggling when they had to depend on Butler III and Kuminga. Golden State dropped two of their three games during Curry’s absence, including a frustrating defeat against Butler’s former team, the Miami Heat (112-86).

However, on March 28, the Warriors fans finally had a reason to rejoice. Just hours before tip-off, head coach Steve Kerr made the exciting announcement that Curry would be back in action. Moreover, the 37-year-old point guard didn’t just make any return but drove Golden State to victory. But what stole the spotlight even more was Curry’s post-game revelation about his tailbone injury

Stephen Curry Reassures That There’s Nothing to Worry

In his post-game press conference after a win over the New Orleans Pelicans (111-95), Curry reassured fans about his current injury saying while the injury was painful, it was not a broken bone or a severe fracture.

Moreover, he also drew a chilling comparison to a similar fall from 2021. Back then, in a game against the Houston Rockets, Curry took a nasty spill down a set of metal stairs after an awkward landing.

“It reminded of me of 2021 when I fell onto the stairs in Houston. Thankfully, I didn’t break anything or have a bone damage, it was mostly just a deep serious contusion. I’ll feel it for a while, but I can play and can’t make it worse, as long as I don’t land on anything. It is like a hairline fracture situation.

“It didn’t bother me, I was just aware of it. I don’t know how long it’ll take, but as long as I feel like I did tonight and don’t have any other incidents where I fall, then I should be fine,” said Curry during his post-game interview.

After sitting out for a week, Curry’s return on Friday wasn’t just symbolic. He put up an electrifying performance, finishing with 23 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds. His mere presence on the floor opened up the offense, allowing the Warriors to find their groove again.

With the injury scare behind him and his game as sharp as ever, Curry’s return couldn’t have come at a better time for the Warriors. Moreover, the Warrior’s head coach was happier than ever seeing the leader back on the court.

Steve Kerr Happy With Curry’s Return

Kerr was visibly happy when announcing Curry’s return to the court on Friday, following the star guard’s two-game absence due to a contusion. However the happiness doubled after the game.

In his post-game interview Kerr pointed out how Curry succeeded in energizing both the team’s essence and overall commitment.

“I think he looked really good. He moved really well, took care of the ball. I think he played an excellent game. He probably missed his last five or six threes, so the numbers don’t look good, but he looked like himself. And I think the week off did him a world of good,” Kerr said during the interview.

Curry has been averaging of 24.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and six assists per game. Also the Warriors currently hold a 42-31 record placing them in the play-in tournament positions within the Western Conference standings.

With only nine games remaining in the regular season the Warriors are focused on securing a direct playoff spot by climbing into the top six. If they can sustain their momentum and capitalize on Curry’s return achieving this goal is well within reach.
