Ahead of a Western Conference Finals matchup that everyone has been anticipating for much of the season, a historic season for the Oklahoma City Thunder reached another major milestone. Their best player, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, closed the book on an extremely tight MVP race, winning his second consecutive honor.
However, the success of his team couldn’t have been achieved alone. As a result, he brought some very expensive gifts to show his appreciation for the rest of the locker room.

How Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Rewarded His Thunder Teammates
Last season, Gilgeous-Alexander put up 32.7 points on 51.9% from the field en route to leading the Thunder to 68 wins. He was bestowed with the first MVP of his career before leading them to the first NBA title in franchise history.
This year, as Oklahoma City tries to become the first team since 2018 to win consecutive championships, SGA has been just as good, if not better, than last year. Averaging 31.1 points, he shot an absurd 55.3% from the field.
Despite Jalen Williams playing just 33 games, the Thunder barely lost a step. Winning 64 games, they were the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference thanks to the four-time All-NBA guard’s excellence.
However, some of that success also stemmed from the excellent roster construction by general manager Sam Presti.
Largely considered one of, if not the deepest team in the league, Oklahoma City has used that depth as a key factor in its dominance over the last few years.
Gilgeous-Alexander recognized that value, too.
As a result, after last year’s gift baskets that included an iPhone, a Rolex, a pair of Beats by Dre headphones, and custom Canada Goose jackets, he had an even more lavish gift prepared this time around.
After he spent close to $21,000 in 2025, the price range for this year’s gifts almost doubled that amount. Through a Jaylin Williams Instagram story, fans got to see the gifts firsthand. As one user highlighted on X, “SGA bought all of his teammates Audemar Piguet watches and trench coats to celebrate him winning MVP.”

Joel Lorenzi of The Athletic got firsthand information about the coats from the two-time MVP. “Burberry trench coats,” Shai added. “I’m glad they all fit, except for Chet’s. We’ve gotta extend Chet’s.”
According to online sources, the watch costs close to $37,000, while the Burberry trench coat would cost an additional $3,000.
Becoming the first player since Nikola Jokić and the first guard since Stephen Curry to go back-to-back put a bow on an excellent season for the superstar guard.
Gilgeous-Alexander did not spare any expense in acknowledging the efforts of his teammates in driving the team and his personal success.
