Russell Westbrook Hypes Georgia Amoore After ‘Making History’ With Mystics’ New Star Rookie

Denver Nuggets' Russell Westbrook was excited to announce the history he made with WNBA draftee Georgia Amoore on WNBA Draft Night.

Russell Westbrook is best known for his NBA legacy, but what has gone under the radar has been his fashion sense. Westbrook has never been shy about publicizing his fashion choices over the years.

Not many know this, but Westbrook has his own fashion company, Honor the Gift. As it turns out, Westbrook’s fashion company was featured during the WNBA’s Draft Night with the Washington Mystics’ newest rookie, Georgia Amoore.

Russell Westbrook Calls Amoore Wearing Honor The Gift ‘Making History’

Westbrook revealed his affiliation with Amoor on his X account, writing, “MY story. HER story. OUR story. Made history tonight with Georgia Amoore. @honorthegiftco for the @WNBA draft? Why not?!”

Westbrook went into more detail about the history he’s made by Amoore choosing his company to dress up for Draft Night in an exclusive story with Vogue’s Leah Faye Cooper.

“This has never happened before—no athlete has ever dressed another athlete for a draft, let alone an NBA player designing for a WNBA Draft,” Westbrook told Cooper. “We’re making history right here, breaking down those barriers between men’s and women’s sports.”

As part of the attire, Amoore wore a shirt that read “Honor Women.” Westbrook explained why he decided to roll with that message.

“They’re how fans can connect with this moment and carry this message forward… It’s a statement about how I was raised and how I live my life,” Westbrook said. “My mom taught me about strength and sacrifice. My wife shows me what true partnership looks like. And now having daughters, I’m even more committed to creating a world that honors and respects women.”

Setting A Precedent

Amoore was the sixth overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. Her selection could be a huge break for Westbrook and Honor the Gift. Her status as a potential WNBA star could pave the way for other stars to do the same with Westbrook.

Every NBA player has their own passion off the court. Typically, they pursue it further when they retire. Not many have gotten into fashion, but Westbrook clearly wants to be a trendsetter, and he may have staked his claim as the WNBA’s go-to fashion designer. Especially because he’s advocating for gender equality.

The WNBA has gotten a great boost in popularity over the last year. Westbrook’s platform could pave the way to help the league get more fans. He may have his fashion choices, but for his business to grow, he also wants it to do so the right way.
