NBA account Sleeper Mavericks said on X, “Doc is one of the most overrated coaches in recent NBA history.” Many fans have argued that Rivers receives too much credit for the Celtics’ title win, considering Tom Thibodeau was on the staff and installed the team’s signature defense. Critics also point to his repeated playoff failures after leaving the Celtics.
