The Milwaukee Bucks are living through a season full of turbulence. On the court, things have not clicked the way fans hoped. The Bucks currently sit at a shaky 10–15 record. Off the court, the drama is even louder.
The Giannis Antetokounmpo trade saga has taken over every NBA headline. And just when people thought the noise might fade, a shocking new revelation has added fuel to the fire. Now, an NBA insider is claiming there is one major reason Antetokounmpo would prefer to join the New York Knicks if a trade actually happens.

NBA Insider Makes Revelation Regarding Giannis Antetokounmpo
Fans recently noticed Antetokounmpo deleted all of his tweets dating back to July 2021, erasing years of posts in one action. On Instagram, the message appeared equally strong, as nearly every Milwaukee-related post was removed from his profile. Only two Bucks-related memories remained: his 2021 championship moment and the in-season tournament trophy.
For a fanbase already nervous about his future, this did not look like a random reset. It felt more like a signal.
The speculation only grew when, a few hours after Antetokounmpo’s social media activity became public, ESPN’s NBA insider Brian Windhorst dropped a major report. According to Windhorst, the Greek Freak had shown interest in a trade to the Knicks during the offseason.
“The Bucks called the Knicks and asked for an offer for Giannis, because Giannis said I want to be a Knick… he asked to be traded already,” said Windhorst.
A new report has added more clarity. NBA insider Jake Fischer wrote on “The Stein Line” Substack that he has heard why New York stands out to Antetokounmpo. According to Fischer, one of the main appeals is the energy of the Knicks fanbase.
“I’ve even heard that the rowdy fanbase gatherings outside the arena following playoff victories that the Knicks are known for have resonated given his natural fondness for the emotionally charged support so prevalent for basketball and soccer clubs throughout Europe,” Fischer wrote.
Fischer also mentioned another key detail: Antetokounmpo is said to be “tempted” by the idea of playing inside Madison Square Garden itself.
“After some further calls, I can confirm that the Knicks — as well as playing in Madison Square Garden — were the specific ‘temptation’ that Giannis himself publicly acknowledged on Bucks Media Day as an outcome he pondered during the summer,” added Fischer in his report.
Last season, the Knicks finished 51-31 and secured a solid playoff spot. They made it to the Eastern Conference finals before being knocked out by the Indiana Pacers. This year, they have picked up right where they left off, currently holding a 16-7 record.
Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokounmpo is sidelined with a calf injury. Before the setback, he averaged 28.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game. Analysts suggest that if he were to join Jalen Brunson in New York, the Knicks would immediately emerge as one of the league’s top championship contenders, a status the franchise has pursued for decades.
