‘Left Every Door Open’ – NBA Insider Discloses Celtics’ Stance On Jaylen Brown’s Future Amid Trade Rumors

Amid growing speculation about Jaylen Brown's future, an NBA insider has weighed in on whether the Boston Celtics could trade the superstar.

The Jaylen Brown situation has been dominating headlines in the aftermath of the Boston Celtics’ elimination from the NBA Playoffs. The star recently raised some eyebrows by claiming that the 2025-26 season was his “favorite” in a Celtics jersey during a Twitch stream.

Then, Brown’s mentor, Tracy McGrady, claimed that the guard had some frustration with the Celtics organization. This fueled some trade speculation, forcing the president of basketball operations, Brad Stevens, to downplay any rumors of a rift with Brown.

NBA Insider Gives Opinion On Boston Celtics’ Stance on Jaylen Brown

Amid the controversy and speculation surrounding Brown’s future with the Boston Celtics, NBA Insider Sam Amick went on the “Run It Back” show with Michelle Beadle and former NBA players Lou Williams and Chandler Parsons.

Amick weighed in on what the future might hold for him. He also revisited his April claim that the Celtics were interested in trading for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

“I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that when this stuff surfaced, it kind of helped me connect some dots. When I reported what I reported, admittedly, you’re kinda going, ‘This group’s in a good place. Why is this the intel? Why did it seem like there were indications that they had shown interest in Giannis at the deadline quietly?” he said.

Amick also spoke about how Brown’s comments might further fuel speculation linking Giannis to the Celtics. He also hinted that the comments made by Stevens during his end-of-season press conference have left the door open for a busy offseason.

“He’s bringing this on himself because he’s just saying a lot on his stream. You talk about how it’s the best season of your career when you bow out in the first round, and you spend most of it without your co-star. That’s going to send a weird type of message,” he said.

“The Celtics are taking the nothing to see here approach. But I do think for sure it’s worth watching. Even Brad, in his press conference, for a guy who doesn’t say that much publicly, he left near every door open with what some of the possibilities are with their team,” he added.

Stevens sought to quell rumors about Brown’s future earlier this week, claiming that the 29-year-old had not shared any frustrations with him.

Brown played a pivotal role for the Celtics this year as Jayson Tatum recovered from his Achilles injury. He averaged a career-high 28.7 points per game, as well as 5.1 assists and 6.9 rebounds. But he wasn’t able to lead Boston past the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, as the Celtics lost the series in seven games.
